Does anyone know if the 1.3L uses a timing chain or belt?

I'd imagine chain, like the 600cc version.

To answer my own question - it's also a chain :)

Where did you get this information? If that's chain on 1.3, that would be perfect! I was always wondering about it.

The Copen 1.3 does have a chain rather than a belt.

The 1.3 Copen also has the worlds first regenerating catalytic converter according to that article. I never knew that.

    copen timing chain

    hi all

work for Toyota in western Australia and own a copen 2004 turbo.
there is no timing belt on this model at all.
the 1.3 motor on the sirion is also chain driven which I owned for 3 years.
the owners service manual is for all Daihatsu and service items are not applicable to all models.
Daihatsu microcat also depicts a timing chain.
    cheers :)

I had my alternator changed last year and it’s a real pig of a job. I think the book time is 2 hours and it cost me £100 labour at an independent garage. The problem is there’s no room to get it out so you have to remove the wheel and shift the suspension leg out of the way.
