Those beige mats do look good, they'd look even better on a car with brown leather seats. I think beige leather does go well with a red car. If you can get beige carpets and door cards as well I think that would be a very good look. As has been said the black rear plate looks better than the yellow we have. The black looks very UK 1960's retro. Keep us informed of what you do to your Copen joeleow. Whatever you do change the colour of the wheels, they do spoil the car.
You complain about the calendar photo vote having photos taken on their drive or road in front of their house, and you go an take a photo on your drive!
I took it next to my tennis courts, can't you see them in the background? Rafa, Roger and Andy are coming round for a game tomorrow. I didn't complain about the calendar photos, I like things to be right and wanted a nice background. So up yours.
My wife and I were really keen on saddle hide brown leather interiors. We saw it on another white Copen. It goes really well. But our other car is also white... so I decided against getting it and we ended up with the red one. With red, the dark leathers can't give the right contrast that we want... so we decided that beige would look better. I have placed orders for them, so my baby will get new seat covers in two weeks time. Agree... the rims must go quickly. Sigh.. I am getting a terrible time looking for that perfect vintage style rims that fit into a Copen.
look what came with my ride... finally managed to get it fixed on the right way... and it looks great!
I would haved loved my Copen to have been white instead of its more sombre battleship grey. Given your choice I'd have most definitely gone for the white car and not the red. That's just my choice though so hope you enjoy your red Copen.
Looking very swish with its tonneau cover in place! I originally wanted a red Copen but I couldn't be more pleased with my gunmetal grey one with its red leather seats. Really classy IMHO.
I think it's inevitable that whatever colour car you choose you end up getting used to it and finding a different one appealing. what's needed is cuttlefish pigment paint that can alter colour when you alter an electric current running through it. any inventors reading?
Some wear & tear at the driver door pocket. How can I dismantle the handle and tuck back everything neatly?
Check this guide out. http://www.geocities.jp/nishikawananami/copendoor.htm Once you have the silver insert out, you should be able to take off the screw that secures the door pocket bit. You might be able to push the material back through.
Removing the silver insert and screws were easy... but it doesn't seem straightforward to pull the whole handle out to fix the netting back.
All is well now... took some courage to pry open the top part of the handle, enough to squeeze back the excess nettings. Thank you Adam!
Nice ride.. Mine is also red. Decided to keep to the red and mod some of the internals instead. How is the internal of your car? 7 year old car may have quite a number of wear and tear...
One of the reasons why I pick this one was because of the well kept interiors. For a 7 year old, I must say it was reasonably well-maintained. Other than the odd scratches and the problem with the door pocket, everything else was acceptable to me. The leather seats definitely need to go too.
Those seats look pretty worn. Your beige idea would look pretty good! Anyway.. I was searching for Kumoi stuff too. Seems pretty ex online. You can find quite a number of parts on rakuten. http://global.rakuten.com/en/search?tl=503190&k=daihatsu+copen But unless its on rakuten global, you're gonna need to find a middle man to ship it over.
wow... another list of poison to go through... yes they are expensive indeed... I just have to save up more $$$ thanks ilain!
