Its a good look in the car now with the chromed pieces installed. I like to look at it but I'm not a big fan of chrome in that its not what I'd like in my car. Although I still not happy with that small door handle cover panel that is still silver. Its looking odd man out even more now. Why didn't you chrome that as well? Like I said I'm not a chrome person but I think that would have looked good and matched up. Is any of it real chrome or just chrome paint?
My driver side window already comes with Auto function, it does go up and down on a single pull. Yours should be as well.
I just like my rides to be different from others. Personally, I think the dashes of chrome gives the interior a refreshing and classic look. I know it is subjective. As for the door handle cover panel, I am not sure how I want to mod it yet. Need more time to think about it first. I do think they are real chrome. I don't think silver paint can achieve the reflective effect. How can I be sure?
Looking good I like all those chrome bits, especially the wipers and three outside vent covers - nice!!!
Yes I agree it has a classic car look. Not sure unless you ask. I know its not silver paint but chrome. Like the bumpers on old corgi cars. that used to wear off to reveal the plastic.
I paid S$300 for these parts and I definitely asked for chrome plating. Only time will tell I guess. This is the shop in Malaysia that did the job for me if anyone is interested. http://www.ars-bodykits.com/index.php/products-services
I think from this photo, together with the chrome gear knob and chrome gear plate trimming, makes them look a more complete set. Now I have 2nd thoughts about changing the gear knob to a wooden type.
Brought the car to the workshop this afternoon. Unfortunately, the steering wheel can't fit onto the boss kit.
Attaching the black bypass cable to prevent the airbag light from lighting up. The boss kit can be screwed on easily. However, at the very last stage, the holes on the boss kit are just not aligned with the holes on the steering wheel. Didn't have any other options but to put back the original steering wheel and have a word with the sellers in Japan. SIGH!!!
bad luck there Joe. You'd have thought the seller would have given you the correct fitting boss. Unless an incorrect one is in the box. I would have offered the two up together for a quick check before taking things apart. even if it was a curiosity go at how they look together.
As you can see, I am a real noob and was way too excited to think straight. I had given the boss kit seller details of my car and the steering wheel that I will be using and yet things still go wrong. :-(( Apparently, the boss hub sent to me comes with bolt pattern that is meant for momos only. I could get myself an adapter like the one below to secure the Nardi steering wheel to the wrong boss hub, but its more $ for me. So I am awaiting a reply from the seller and see if he can change it for me. http://www.amazon.com/Nardi-Personal-Adapter-Polished-Steering-4300-00-0003/dp/B004JKBCMW
Not sure about UK, but it seems that the yearly vehicle inspection here in SG does not include steering wheels.
on the same topic - interested to see what other wheels fitted like your Nardi - my buyee Momo wood-rim wheel arrived today (airbag removed) - it wan't too much trouble to swap the airbag in from my standard Copen wheel - I'm happy with the results for a couple of hundred I didn't want to test the law in Australia with regard to removing the airbag option. These Momo wheels seem to be a common option in other locales but I haven't come across any here locally. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9m1xhsuvwcropxp/momo 3.JPG
