Final product. Holes were drilled for the screws. A thin layer of sponge added to prevent scratches on the chrome bumper. Catching the vertical and horizontal alignment.
dont know yet as dont know the weight - I am ordering 2 other items including the seat belt guides - but i would just assume pay twice as much as item cost advertised and you wouldnt be far wrong. totally agreed - looks 1000000% better Joe - no idea on the bulbs Adam K do you know?
Thanks Adam & Copencat! I have been wanting to change it ever since the day I laid my eyes on it. Looking for a proper Daihatsu license plate screw caps next.
I won't be doing any of that to my car, I couldn't even be bothered to fit the alarm I bought. Couldn't find a suitable spot under the bonnet to fit the siren and just gave up. The picture of the muffler being changed is interesting. I can't believe they are doing it with the car up on two jacks. I've got two sets of axle stands in my garage and would never go under a car on jacks only. Having said that the garage doesn't look as though it is high enough for a hydraulic ramp so maybe that's their way. Btw Joe the car looks great I love the grill, boot rack and bumper. It's a pity the white walls didn't work out they really added something to the look.
When I first looked at the KM parts, one of my fav was the License Pocket Garnish. But this item in particular was priced out of my reach. So I embarked on a mini project to DIY my own version of the license garnish. Firstly, an acrylic was hand cut into the right shape as the backing.
Next I started to prepare strips of chrome moulding to create the shiny background. And cut off the excess into the right shape as the backing.
3M tapes were used to secure both the license plate to the garnish and the garnish to the rear bumper.
Thank you Copencat! My handy work is not perfect but I think it is enough to bring out the effect that I want to achieve. Loving it myself!
