with the Mira front coils being longer and with more coils but compress to a shorter length when in place. doesnt that mean the coils are nearly touching and close to be fully compressed?

No not really, the bottoms are close but the ride is not any harder nor dose it bottom out or bas, it doesn't really move much as if it did I would of had issues with the arch rubbing on tires, I'm not sure if it will work on the 1.3 engines due to the extra weight on front end, but it's work for me and lowerd the Copen a fair amount with out comprisesing the ride quality, I've got a few more sets to try yet tho to see if they change the handling as the back end is rather skitish with lift of over stear

i have also been busy to day painting the front, rear and side lip kit silver, got the paint (rattle cans) made up at my local car parts shop and the color match is not to bad, in fact its the best color match ive ever brought.i fitted them first using the templates for holes and were the fitting kits all go then started sanding and spraying.
i used 1 can of primer, 2 full cans of silver and 4 cans of laquar, going to leave them hanging up to dry and harden for a a few days before refitting fitting to the car

Superspat has your car been resprayed?

Are you not going to fit any centre caps to the wheels. I like the wheels but the multiple choice holes showing spoil the affect.

its got the centre caps on powder coated white and don't want anything in the middle of wheels, I couldn't find any wheels I liked in 4 studs and when I sell it will keep the wheels so got more choice in what they will fit

Where did you buy your silver paint from?
The front is looking low, does it not scrap on speed bumps? I imagine it will more likely with the corner pieces attached.

I got it from a car parts place, they mix it up in shop, Halford also sell them, no luckily I live in new forest so no speed bumps and no scraping, I've got a 3" of clearance but skirts will drop that down to 2.5"ish

Did they put the colour code on the can? I bought some and it looked slightly off.

Thats fortunate. I have bumps to get into work and a few other roads locally. One thing that put me off lowering and it is quite low anyway. I've seen 16 inches in and they give it glowered look but without making much difference to keep the same clearance.

The place I get touch up paint made up have five or six slight variations of the manufacturers code which takes into account paint fading.
They offer their swatches of paint up to your car and compares them to get the best match. I think this is standard practice at automotive paint suppliers. Obviously take the car with you.:)

the problem is the original paint has faded and changed color so the color in the can would of been correct its the rest of the car that is slightly of color
i got color s28 made up which is not a bad match. im lucky in not having speed bumps, there are just a few places i cant get in to or have to come out the entrance but its all fun and games

got round to fitting the lip kit last nite, was nice and easy and took under 15 mins to get all 6 parts fitted

i also got a load of reflective heat wrap for the intercooler to throttle body pipe work as my engine bay builds up some serious heat were there is no ventilation, i am going to be getting new pipe work made up for a custom fmic but for now i have wrapped the pipe work to try and help keep the inlet temps down
    [IMG]

i have also got 30 meters of ceramic coated black heat wrap to do the complete exhaust system from the turbo back to keep the engine bay temps down as much as possible

I was meaning the mixing code to see if it was the same as the can I got. Which was slightly different but it was 99% out of sight so wasn't a major issue.

so board em struck last night and after sorting out my garage for 5 hours i decided to see about fitting a bigger fmic,

my ac didnt work so first of all that went, who needs ac with a convertible anyway and saves a bit of weight and got ride fo the stupid tiny standard fmic thats got the cooling capability's of hand fan in the desert
    [IMG]

it opened a load of room for the new intercooler and pipe to sit it
    [IMG]

a few pics of the size difference of standard intercooler nad the new one that will be going on, its easily double the size so a much needed cooling upgrade
    [IMG]

mocked up the pipe work useing a load of old s/s pipe work and silicone hoses i already had, had to order 2x 90degree bends and 90 degree s/s bend before i can finish the instal and get it all plumbed in

I see you've cut the middle support out of the bumper, was that to gain access for the cooler or to provide more air flow to it?

Have you removed the AC pump as well? found a shorter belt?

It's a shame the annual meet is always in the time as get the school holidays off,

The middle bit was in my way and doesn't serve a purpose really, doesn't offer any real support and looked silly behind the grill so chopped it of, pump is still on at my but coming of once pipe work has been made and done need any other belts as I'm sure that belt just powers the ac pump, but if I'm wrong then a non ac belt from daihatsu mira/cuore will fit as all the parts are interchangeable regarding belts, alternator, starter ect ect

Do think you need a shield for air filter. My kit came with a shield that goes behind the grill.
Does it matter if it gets wet?

no mate, dont need a shield, have you ever felt how hot a turbo gets, any water that managed to get tot he turbo would evaporate the moment it touched the blades and its not my daily car so when weather is bad i use a much newer safer larger car, im prob not even going to be running a air filter as not sure if its going to fit with the pipe work from turbo to intercooler, so mite to do a bit of rejigging of the filter any way

i brought a broken turbo so i can see what type of hybrid i can build with it, but i didnt expect it to be so small, the inlet and exhaust turbine blades are half the size of the avanzato turbo and 2 times smaller than my hybrid i had on my avanzato

but it dose mean that if i can mate my hybrid and standard together i will have some very nice and big power gains and give the copen some much needed more power
