Would be interested to know the story behind having a St. Andrew's Cross on the back? Not something you often see with a German plate.
Maybe there's a clue in Andreas' user name? If you say Scooty in a German accent it sounds like Scotty. Maybe he's a big Scotty fan from Star Trek!
chrome door handles hi scooty, I ordered the outside chrome door handles from sakura too. I tried to install them by myself and found that they were a bit too big. The counterweight and mechanism is also different from my original copen's handles. Did you encounter something like this too?
Scooty What a fantastic car! Congratulations. It's really cool and really stylish....love it! Can you tell me where you got those awesome wheels please?
Hi all, ups, seem to have missed the last postings in this thread. So, one by one: Hmm, I'll have to check in detail whether it is real wood. It is a whole piece in exchange for the existing rubber handle and a genuine Daihatsu accessory. I spent some time of my life in Scotland (mostly Edinburgh), so I am a bit scotophile (please do not confuse with scotophily). Interesting guess In former times, when I was young, I was a fan and owner of Vespa scooters, so it goes: Scooter -> Scooty Unfortunately I cannot help you on this, I did not do it myself. The wheels are AEZ Xylo 6,5J x 15 offset 38 (AEZ website) with Nangkang NS-2 185/45 R15 75V tyres Unfortunately AEZ does not produce this model any more. And again a big thanks for the nice comments on my car (and me ) Andreas
scooty if you dont mind me asking -but how much did the kumoi seat belt guides cost in the first place? as I know they are sold out thanks - EDIT - i now have found out!
Nevertheless, here's the info: Kumoi Seat Belt Guide 12.800 JPY At the time of purchase (2010) all together (+p&p+customs+VAT) a cost of roughly 165 EUR (about 135 GBP nowadays). Andreas
Small world. I'm with a Edinburgh Blues Scooter Club. Had scoots for twenty years and still got 2 vespas and 1 Lambretta now. We've also branches in Munich, Gothenburg and Hull.
Hi Gwyn, thanks a lot. The mats came from Daihatsu as a genuine accessory with the following part numbers: 58500-73074-110 black with silver logo 58500-73074-120 black with red logo Unfortunately they are sold out (at least in Germany). You could try a former Daihats garage with these part numbers to get them from Daihatsu Japan.. Otherwise I suggest you go for custom made aftermarket products. I could provide you with a graphics file of the Copen-logo, maybe you find some producer who is able to use it to stitch the logo on the mats? Please let us know, how you get on. Andreas
