    Congratulations :party::party::party: I think!
You have to get married to get away with spending money on car parts again

Thank you kindly! I'm just happy she said yes... I was a sneaky bastard and did it when she was visiting me whilst I was on a business trip in New York City.

There are so many parts I want, like a short shifter kit, but the price is hard to justify... I plan on splurging at Christmas, though, as it will be a "big" birthday for me. I'll leave my age to your imagination :p

21 obviously :). You will definitely have to treat yourself.

Maybe you can get her interested in the Copen too - I Have been known to get car parts for my birthdays!

My goal of an integrated (fob + key in a single unit) has been completed!

Very well done Mr Six, Integration is the future! :) Have you a picture of your unit?

Battery flat again... showing 2 volts on the terminals. Don't think it's worth my time even getting it on a trickle charge.

The AA solar charger did nothing! Admittedly, I've not driven the car in ~1 month, but the natural discharge rate of the battery and the small parasitic draw shouldn't have fucked the battery as bad as it has.

Is it time for me to bring the car to an automotive electrician?

I disconnect my battery (via an isolation switch) whenever it is parked up. I fired the Copen after almost ten months first kick...very happy.

I'm using an Exide Extreme battery - mainly because of the small premium for the huge increase in warranty period (42 months).

Do you happen to have a link to the battery? All I can see are the premium Excides for the copen

I recall that the quiescent currents is 34 mA. My Copen lies for weeks and starts right up.

When I had the same trouble I replaced the battery it still went flat which sent me off down a blind alley. I then looked at the 'new' battery and it was a dud. They replaced it and hey ho no more problems.

Looks like the Excides are far too big to fit. They look find on the width, but the length is the problem.

Time to return it and get a Bosch instead

Excide RMA'd (neither the EA456 or EB456 fit) , and replaced with a Bosch. It's on the charger now.

Screw your kettlebells, nothing beats lugging a 12kg car battery down to the post office - a 10 minute walk becomes 30 mins and your arms become jelly!

I noticed an issue with my integrated key and the Irish weather... the key is a small bit too wide and hits against the stalk for the wipers. I have a JDM stalk setup (their indicators are on the RHS, not the left like we use in Europe) that I can swap out, but might leave it as is and take a Stanley knife to the stalk if it keeps annoying me.

I also got a number of GP Good Personality parts via Jessie, including the short shift kit, as a treat for my... ahem... 18th birthday. Got a real ELM327 scanner as well, for project ScootyBus.

With all the travel for work I've been doing lately, I've spent more time in airports than my Copen. Whilst fast track security, priority boarding, lounge access, and getting drunk at 6am because your body thinks it's 10pm is nice, I'd much rather be driving around Ireland in the Copen solving mysteries and shit. :(

I got the multimeter out today as I am convinced that I have a parasitic draw somewhere - but the car in sleep mode is only pulling 0.03A. For the life of me, I have no idea why the battery keeps draining... maybe it was just bad Halfords batteries.

Project ScootyBus seems to have the same issue with the new, real ELM327 chip, OBD-II scanner, which means it's time to manually send the commands as it might mean there's a problem with my code. Still haven't installed any of the GP parts either - she's been driven exactly thrice this year, but will get a nice long drive on the motorway tomorrow.

Been awhile since I updated this thread. She just had her NCT / MOT, and failed on emissions.

I've a feeling that there's a hole in the exhaust, again, which shouldn't happen as it's suppose to be stainless steel. Some of you might remember the saga of the exhaust place not putting a stainless exhaust on her in the first place, as the first exhaust that they fitted rotted through within a few months.

Sorry - I thought I replied to you ages ago but it was to another Copen owner on Facebook with the exact same query

EXIDE Extreme X40CP 310CCA - sitting in my Copen as I type.

I note the current Exide part number is now X40CPMF @ 400CCA

I have often seen mild steel hangers/brackets welded to SS pipe.
Good chance it is a cracked joint/weld or even a failed flexi joint (if one has been added by a third party). SS should not hole that quickly.

Aye, I'll see what the state of it is like when she's up on the ramp - couldn't find any holes with a mirror but I could only check the sides and bottom :-(

Getting a mate stuff the tail pipe ends and lie down and listem for a leak often gives a quick and dirty clue.
