Not yet :-(( my husband decided he would wait for the summer so he could get the roof down and have more space (and better weather) to have a proper look at it!

I think that meant leave it for as long as possible before I go at it with a screw driver:p

If we ever succeed I will post a "how to...."

Jowleow did you manage to remove the vents yourself?

Ah! Those are easy to replace as well - just take care taking the centre console out, as there are about 4 wire connections that need to be disconnected.

I took my Copen for it's MOT and a service at Cattermoles in Ipswich today. They are an ex Daihatsu dealer and great with Copens (it is a 3 hour round trip for me from South East Essex but they are better than anyone else any closer).

So I took my lovely shiny vent rings too as they said that they would try to fit them.

Their verdict is - all you can do is prise the old ones off, breaking the tabs, they didn't want to risk damaging anything else in the process so it is back to my husband doing it on a sunny day :D

So, the only way to remove these vents is to force them, I tried getting behind them to twist them through a quarter turn, couldn't! So resorted to brute force... Masking off the area around the vent with tape to hopefully prevent any slippage/damage, simply get a smallish flat head screwdriver and force under the edge of the vent ring, trying to lift it if you can to enable getting the screwdriver under, when you are under the edge, twist until you hear a snap, it's the only way... Move around the vent to the next quarter point and repeat. When you have two 'broken' clips, you will have enough leverage to lift the vent ring and then turn the whole assembly through 90 degrees anti-clockwise, thus releasing the collar that the ring is mounted on, you can them easily remove the ring from the collar without breaking the remaining clips.
When you have replaced or resprayed your vent ring, you simply pop it back on and then locating larger locator lug on the ring, place this at 9 or 3 o'clock position and just press home until you here a satisfying clip and it is nice and secure again...
    Simples :D

Yeah, someone on the Copen Facebook group said the only way to do it is with a screwdriver.

Did you replace yours? They look custom. If you did, I'll happily take the original ones off your hands :)
