yep - otherwise you never hear of these places... [/IMG] my fav picture i took of witby abbey - stunning day [/IMG]
My wife and i went to WHITBY yesterday.. First trip out in the car since october, had forgotten what a great car it is to drive, anyway no issue's completly fautless, got a good few looks of people, makes all the hardwork worth while..
did you have fish and chips? - absolutely amazing. We also went on the Yorkshire Moors steam railway - fantastic experience.
Jules so good that you reminded us about this epic trip you made with Neville. I think your photos look even better on a second viewing! And Neville looks immaculate (of course!). Still totally in awe of the fact that you actually live in this astoundingly beautiful place. I think I've only ever been once and, you guessed it, it rained. We spent much too much time in the pencil museum with the kids, I remember! OB (lifelong townie - but at least we have badgers in the garden!)
Badger, thank you for your kind words and the next time you plan a trip north in MLC you simply must hook up with us ... and Nev! Sure, it's a bit hit-and-miss as to whether the weather will behave but, as you say, there are a myriad of possibilities. I loved your posts, some while back, of your lad using MLC as his wedding car - such a proud moment for the little chap. Hope I have a chance to do that for our #3 son who has yet to take the plunge (if, indeed, he ever does). It certainly does the business as memorable wedding transport.
It seems the Top Gear episode has been removed. Has anyone another link to it? I can find a Russian version but......UK one?
I found an English one here: Top Gear Season 2 Episode 8 Skip to 10:51 the website itself is in another language but the video is in English. I kinda wish they said more about the Copen.
Hi @JulesAtCumbria, In August 2016 when I decided to buy my Copen, I went to see a guy in Southampton that was selling his dad's two yellow Copens. He had sold one of them already but the other was still available. He showed me pictures. The first one (now gone) was the one in TopGear. He mentioned that he didn't know it was "the one" at the time but the person who bought it knew (and of course said it AFTER the car changed hands, I would have done the same thing, right?) Looking at the MOT history search, it seems BF52 AWZ is still alive and kicking somewhere: Date tested: 19 July 2018 PASS Mileage 85,796 miles If anyone knows of anybody at an MOT garage, they could check where this was done. Let the hunt begin... PS: Nice trip. Nice weather. Way to go!
Well, @copenforbusiness, what a joy to hear from you and thanks for the thumbs-up! Now, regarding the Top Gear Copen, this was later bought by Matt and we pointed out to him the fact that he had a Star Car: My project He sold it on earlier this year, I think, but yes - it's still out there and alive!
In case anyone's interested, the yellow Copen featured in the Top Gear '2003 convertibles review' (BF52 AWZ) is currently for sale on eBay.....
I noticed it was back again. They tried to sell it three times last year (I have a watch on yellow Copens) and it is a very short drive from me but I wasn't keen the sills are now painted black.
