How much is your insurance now out of interest? I'm always shocked when the youngsters at work tell me how much they have to pay. And then they tell me that's per month
1800 with pass pluss qualification! and two parents with 25+ years ncd as named drivers! and with me saying id only drive 3000 miles a year!
if it was just a 17yo on insurance just passed they would expect to pay the value of the car, about 5k in total!
I couldn't even get any one to give me a quote to add my 18 year old to my 1.3s insurance he has ended up in a corsa!
for me as a newly qualified driver aged 39 the insurance was about £550 hopefully when I renew the no claims bonus will start to kick in.
thats strange as i even have a conviction....and i can get a quote on a 1.6 mx5 for 3k....rwd oh yeah
My Mrs pays £280 for the both of us as named drivers fully comp. She's 30 & I'm only a tad older (by a decade & few years ) The insurance for the both of us on my Astra 2ltr Turbo SRI is also only £340 fully comp. So in comparison I thought the Copen insurance was on the high side!
Hate being young and reckless! but i did make the insurer on the other end of the phone laugh when i told him why i thought it was so high...my personal motto...old enough to know better, young enough not to care!
Lol. No advanced courses Wrong side of 40, and 15+ years NCB for cars, bikes and vans. Funny how they say having big NCB for say a bike or van, doesn't count towards discount for a car policy, but have a claim on the bike or van and it affects all your policies. Insurance = Legalised robbery.
25 fem 5-6000 miles (5 yrs licence no NCB) 750 odd 26 (1 yrs NCB) 650 odd 27 (2 yrs NCB) 550 odd 27 with a entire car write off claim no NCB - back to 700 odd i just did a quote to ensure my sister out of interest who is 22 and with a brand new license and no pass plus - 1350 odd. When we insured my other sister on a 1.2/1.4 polo - she was 18/19 - £1500 so yeah being female really helps.
In Ireland, at least, they cannot give gender based discounts - been illegal for about a year or two.
