The Copen spending spree continues! This month I've gone on a seat belt modification mission. Don't ask me why but I bought one of these Take off seat belt anchor bolts. I don't know why I bought it but it seemed like a fantastic idea at the time (after a few glasses of wine) Anyway kinda makes the seat belt look a bit neater but does it help with the retraction? Like hell do they! Next purchase was a pair of Take Off seat belt guides. Yeah the Kumoi ones are much nicer but you try & find some! It's impossible now :-(( Still these are pretty sweet & are definitely the next best thing: And in situ: Loving the chrome look & a 100 times better than the stock guides. But do they help with the seat belt retraction? Like hell do they! But they look fantastic! Both the above were purchased from Japan through Jesse Streeter as recommended by Adam K. Great service at a fantastic price. Next purchse were some Momo seat belt pads: £10 off ebay for a pair. Do they help with seat belt retraction? Do they hell! Infact they've made it a whole lot worse & stopped them retracting at all! Oh well they kind of look nice & suit the car. Just need to remember to take them off for the MOT. Also spray painted the original wheel nuts this week: From tarnished to sanded to primed to painted & lacquered. Have't put them on yet but the colour is a great match for the refurbed wheels. Anyway there's still a few things on the shopping list but Copen Dave is in for his first service at our regular garage tomorrow. It'll be amusing to see what our local big burly mechanic makes of little Copen Dave as his wife, the receptionist, had no idea what a Daihatsu Copen is!
agreed those seat belt guides look sooo much better i watched despicable me last night so got to know the little minions...
Good bye January 2014! Minion Dave as featured in The Copenworld Calendar 2014 And its time for the February update. Like a few others on here I bought the Ultimate Edition grill & I got round to installing it today with the break in the bad weather. Also finally got round to putting my re-painted wheel nuts on.
love the little red valve caps you have on, your wheels look absolutely fantastic - inspiring me! lol
Parcel shelf Hi. Excuse my ignorance. I don't have a parcel shelf or tonneau on my Copen . Doesn't one interfere with the other? Haven't actually seen a parcel shelf in situ. Thanks
The Tonneau Cover was a £400 option from the factory. Not a lot of Copens came with them due to the absurd price (2003 pricing, don't forget). Instructions on installing a tonneau cover, with hooks, is on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjpHcGKRj9Q The cover's housing bag and hooks do not interfere with the correct operation of the roof. You have a parcel shelf - it's the tiny shelf between the wind deflector and the rear window.
