    There's a bit of confusion because there's 2 questions asked in a row -

Ady-bod has the cobra alarm on his 1.3 in Dublin which has the problem of the alarm not unlocking the doors.

Hamish-inglis has the daihatsu alarm on his copen and wants a new fob in London.

BarnsleyRob and Salieri, you're both answering different questions and arguing who's right when you're both right :p

Thanks for your replay. My copen is 1.3 engine from 2007. Here is my fob. Cobra model 7777 is written on the fob. Usually where is the unit fitted? At least to know where to look. Thanks

Lol. Both of you are right on both counts - there were 2 questions and the key fob is fugly.

@ady_bod If you search the forum for the posts on the Cobra alarm, I think someone posted the location of the version you have but I’m a bit reluctant to repeat that in an open forum for obvious reasons. If you can’t find it, PM me and I’ll tell you where mine is.

    Here’s a link to Cobracartech.

    Cobra Key Fob Replacement 7777

And here is the phone number for Cobra technical support who I found to be very helpful. You will need to know the alarm model number before you speak to them or they probably won’t be able to help. As I discovered, they have no idea where the alarm unit is located as that was down to the importer/installer.

Howya from Ashtown. Timpsons in Stephens Green can do it no bother - that's where I got my key cloned.

    Fobs are a different story.

Another thing guys. Ive seen that i have a bonnet switch which is blocked. It cannot be pressed. I don't see a warning light in the dash for the bonnet. I'm trying to understand if this might be the cause for the central locking not to work. Does anybody knows something about that bonnet switch. Looks a bit like the doors one

On mine, the bonnet switch worked but it was “earthed” to the plastic scuttle panel, which obviously means it wasn’t earthed at all. It’s a simple push switch and tells the alarm if the bonnet is open. You can probably pick one up for a quid but if it isn’t setting the alarm off, I wouldn’t bother unless you need to code a new Cobra fob (which requires the bonnet to be open so the switch is energised).
