Hang on - I'll be along to play soon.....! Sigh The trouble with living in the Lake District is ... well, it's kinda wet. Well, not today, just cloudy and cool, so it's tough hearing all you happy Copenistas out there, roof down, enjoying the great weather. Hell! I'm not moaning - get in there and enjoy. We'll hopefully be able to join you as the week progresses when the curtain of cloud is parted and, lo and behold, the sun shines down! Well, as the saying goes, there wouldn't be a Lake District without a lot of rain. It's the price we pay. I'll catch up with you soon!
Alz - wonderful backdrop - well jealous! the copen looks like a happy sun on top of the hills! I got out too but not for very long - I have pulled my back and the copen is not a back friendly car in the slightest especially with the surrey potholes - every time I wince! but however - behind my car you can see a boat - that is David Gilmore's of Pink Floyds recording studio! *apparently... but I believe it to be true* [/IMG]
I don't care how cold it is... It may be cold but damn it, I have decided the top goes down if it's sunny! We just don't get enough days in the year to do it so I have taken great pleasure getting the roof down on my way home from work Friday and today and, I plan on doing so all week if the weather reports are correct. I have had comments from colleagues today who didn't realise the top came down asking me to put the roof down as I left so they could watch through the security camera (I was very obliging )
Nice picture copencat you should keep it for the next calendar. It will at least get votes from pink floyd fans.
At last!! This week has been sunny ... even here in the frozen north (OK, I accept that Scottish Copens will contest that). Neville has enjoyed getting his interior warmed by some of those precious solar rays. Here's s couple of pics taken at home - and yes, that is his regular view!
Fab pics!! Looks a bit different round your way! And Neville is a baby, I notice. And he's got a gorgeous red steering wheel...did all the later ones have this?
Kate - yep everyone is surprised by the top down fever - watch their eyes turn from ridicule to sheer jealousy of your car lol! Jules - WHAT A VIEW! Neville is one lucky boy. I do think he is the youngest copen here! DAG - thanks - I have a better one but a bicycle was in the way - it is going to become one of my fav picture spots - one day i may catch him going to his studio! OB - I thought all 1.3s come with red steering wheel?
Yay! When the sun shines Neville grins ... and yes, he is a baby (Sept 09) but I'm not sure he's the youngest in CW. There are a few 2009s out there. I think Copencat's right - all the 1.3s had a red/black Momo steering wheel. Copencat - that lovely cool grey car looks divine by the river. Mr. Waters (or is it Mr. Gilmour?) would be dead proud to have one sat outside their studio.
lol so he should be! well he is the youngest I have seen on here but then i suppose i rarely stare at the numberplates! just getting it serviced as we speak then I am off to Brighton! Weather looking good - dont know if it is warm enough for roof down on the motorway though! car is muchos dirty but I do hope to still take some pictures if the chance presents but pretty busy today
How we decide who is going to drive to the shops... I finally managed a whole week driving home from work with the top down and the weekend shop - Best week EVER!
Seeing double!! Don't worry, have another glass - you are fine! Our day out turned a few heads, although it did give people chance to get another look at the fabulous car that just passed them hahaha.
Oh are you Your Majesty's partner? And the cars are the his & hers Copens? So when you go for a sunny Sundays drive you take both cars out separately? At least with the tops down you can have a chat when you're side by side
hahaha Yes that is His Maj behind the wheel! We don't usually fight over who will drive but, it was the first sunny day we have both had a Copen so we decided to take them both out! There wasn't the opportunity to get them side by side but that would have been hilarious. It did mean I could have my music on and he could have his - it was a win, win!
Copenistas, What's all this about getting the roof down because the Sun made an appearance ? Come on, really. I never go anywhere with the roof up no matter what the temperature ( Obviously, if it's raining the car stays in its hutch ). That's the idea, it's a SPORTS CAR after all. I wacked up the M1 a week or two back at 70 it was freezing outside but with the seats on and the heater nozzles pointing the right direction I was as warm as toast and laughing my socks off at all those saps in their people carriers. Now, on the subject of rust I have now started taking this seriously and have had three body shops take a look at the arches. The first two dragged on their woodbines, sucked their teeth and shook their heads and sent me home in a state of depression. A liver transplant sounded easier. Now the third one, just said, " yeah, weld a bit of steel in where necessary and it will be as good as new, how does £150.00 a side sound ?' I think we can do business. So, no more of this 'it's sunny, let's drop the roof ' nonsense !
Kate - best photo ever - everything is twice as nice! Ned - lol i dont have the money to spend on getting warm with the roof down. I didnt go to brighton in the end in the copen.. but guess what I spotted? [/IMG]
There you are, see - Neville's not the only baby Copen here! Both Kate and Your Majesty have silver 59 plate Copens!
How did you not crash? I have only seen 2 Copen's (*possibly the same one twice?!) since buying mine. The first time I had to turn the car around and take a closer look (LOL) and the other one passed me after I was hit by a lorry coming off the motorway (M5)! Copencat - Your photography skills whilst driving are very impressive - I think I would 'ave been so excited I'd ave hit the car infront!
