Did you make any claims (for theft) though? it may have seemed ok until if you had to make a claim then they get their big book of excuses not to pay out...out

I didn't make any claims for theft, but with my Copen they were very clear that until I sent in proof of a Thatcham approved alarm they would not cover me for theft. Even with that they sent me a renewal price of over £800 to insure me and Garry (both mid forties) doing less than 4000 miles a year with over 25 years driving experience each and no claims or penalty points on my Copen :-(( They eventually got it down to £650 but it was still overpriced. I wouldn't mind but I hadn't even told them about any modifications!

that's a huge price. we pay about 220 for me and mrs Binz (late 40's, early 50's) 15K miles per year. They didn't charge any extra for adding a subwoofer and said no extra charge if I get roof vinyl wrapped either. were also hassle free when managing a claim for accident last year.
