Yeah i had two running front to back tide to the roll bars and the two running side to side attached to each other, via some loops in the bag. Not putting the Tonneau cover on meant the bag sat slightly lower inside the gap and didn’t slide around. The bag was just an old hiking rucksack I had and the straps were from Halfords, these ones:

Incredible! And I thought it's a no-go to do any long trips with the Copen. Where are my old bags?

Only thing i will say is that it started to rain heavy as we got into wales and i got soaked trying to undo all the knots i tied in order to get the roof back up. Inside of the car stayed dry though as my girlfriend just sat in the passenger seat with an umbrella over the car.

    Hi all,

thought I post some pics of the final product in black as the pics posted earlier only showed the samples (which were grey).

    Hi Ken,

I now used them for the meeting in Belgium and have to tell you that, although some of the roads were quite bumpy, I did not notice any "bouncing" of the bag.
The fitting to the roll bars appeared to me quite safe and fixed the whole bag to stay in place. The straps are adjustable so one can actually tighten them even more.

    Is Tonneau required

I like the look of these bags but do you need a tonneau for the bag that attaches to the roll bars and if not is there a risk of scratching the paintwork of the boot/lid.

    I've a 2004 660 model, should I be thinking of getting a tonneau?

Would appreciate some feedback before splashing out money.:D

    Hi Dangermouse,

the tonneau cover would be the optimum, but instead you could be thinking about a piece of foamed plastic to fill up the gap (maybe wrapped with some cloth).

In case you need to close the roof it should not be a problem to store away the piece of foamed plastic in the boot along with the bag.

A lot of information about retrofitting a tonneau cover can be found in this thread (click me).

    Great advice!

Thank you all for your great advice! I've just bought my little Copen and looking forward to some weekends away with my things packed up in my new bag!

    without cover

look really good but will they fit without the cover behind the hoops,ie onto the roof panel?

Have they an anti scratch base or do you need to supply your own?

It states in a colour to match your car, what are the colours?

    thanks in advance

    See two posts above.
    ;):)

Nope, no antiscratch base, just the cloth.

Where did you find this? To my knowedge they were only available in black.

Anyway, the bag for mounting behind the headrest is sold out, only the bag for inside the boot is still available.

Nertman, I bought one of the boot bags at Christmas. Ok, yes it was bought for me!
It was the black one with pale blue interior. A good fit and decent quality to. I put some small walking boot, gloves, scarf, tissue and couple other bits in it. It is full though lol

I passed on the parcel shelf bag idea, even though they had sold out, because you need the roof down I was told and felt that would not be practical for me. Especially as in UK I'd not have the roof down that often and any journey forces you to have roof down door to door.

The boot one is good though as I know all boot contents are secure for me to drop the top when I wish. Looks a bit fancy when you lift the boot too to show people.

Has anybody fitted a boot rack to the Copen? A removable rack rather than the type that requires you to drill the boot lid would seem to be a better idea than a bag. You can strap a bag, a suitcase or whatever to a rack so it has to be more versatile than a bag.
Having said that the rear shelf bag looks good on the pictures I've seen, very touring style. As trustafox says though UK weather makes not being able to put the roof up a bit impractical.

Good find Adam, I had looked at this option also but you couldn't have the wing.

I thought I'll add the photo of my boot bag. I think I have done previously.

Nice to see fitted luggage for the Copen.

I tried to order a boot bag last year but they are not posting to Australia :(

That boot bag looks neat but I thought the point of a bag was to increase your luggage space like a rack, or one of these boot lid bags, below, would do.

    Hi Trustafox

I'm thinking about buying just the boot bag, but wondered how easy it is to get it in and out of the boot when the roof is down, or is it only possible when the roof is up?
