From what I have read about the Copen a normal manual boost controller will not work. Something to do with a restriction in the line. Now this "Magictank" does the same sort of thing as a manual boost controller but isn't effected by the restriction. Allowing power to be increased slightly.

Here is a translation (great engrish):

    Product Description

◆ Achieve sharp acceleration in smooth!
    ◆ Power-up torque across!
◆ durability up of the turbo charger!
◆ boost pressure adjustment function! (About 0.1 to 0.2 km up possible)

We control the boost pressure genuine parts called "VSV" Many of the turbo cars. It is the part that you can lower the boost pressure to hard acceleration or when the water temperature is low, operate receiving a signal from the computer according to the situation and condition of the car and "VSV". But the structure of the "VSV", pulsation would occur during operation, opening and closing little by little the West gate valve to control the boost pressure of the turbocharger, pulsation power loss at high rpm smooth acceleration may become impossible I occurred. Sometimes unpleasant sound intermittently from air cleaner occurs at pulsation. It is possible to greatly reduce the pulsation So if I attach a "magic tank", unpleasant and at the same time get the power and smooth acceleration operation noise even obliterate. Since the movement of Westgate is stable, durability will also be up wasted movement of the turbo charger is reduced.

※ There is the car model that some VSV is not installed. (Such as Suzuki F6A engine)
※ I can not attach it to boost controller mounted vehicle of market goods.
※ It is the same time can be fitted with the perfect drive.
※ There is a difference in the change of the boost pressure according to the model.
Please be careful when attached to a vehicle that has been cut boost.
※ There is the case that the caution lamp and the transition to boost safety after cutting mode is flashing by the vehicle. Please lower the boost as soon as possible in that case.

Pulsation of the VSV will greatly occurs during acceleration. So we check the power of (2-speed fixed) acceleration in magic tank mounted state (normal) not installed state. A result, about 4 horsepower 3.2 horsepower, torque 0.6 kg up, the acceleration at the time of high rpm! Not a high rpm, 4 horsepower under accelerated time I stepped pop is a number that you can feel as soon as anyone. Power-up at the time of acceleration enables the fun without driving feel that stress is effective in town riding to repeat the ON · OFF of the accelerator.

Hmmm...I'm not a big fan of MBC's mate, that sort of sounds like a po'sh one ;)

I guess it would be alright if you were sensible with it, but I'd just be afraid of hitting boost cut and damaging the turbo or engine, some guys have success with them though. A good friend of mines got an mbc on his car at the moment while his spare ECU's getting custom tuned for a 18t conversion. He's had no issues so far but he's running pretty low boost iirc....

It used to be a crude way of adding more boost instead of forking out hundreds for a ECU remap, but you've only got to turn it up that little bit too much and bang...boost cut and your head butting the windscreen:-((
Used to get it on my old car (GT4) the HKS boost controller went belly up so instead of fixing it they ditched the valve and fitted a £20 mbc and didn't tell me! Was not happy! Turbo went a month or so later.

    Hey Adam

When you fitted your chrome accs on the roof handles - did you do anything more to prep the area other than wipe it with the alcohol pad provided?

    thanks very much

Nope just cleaned them. I do remember they didn't seem to stick on great at first. Seemed to get better after a few days. I guess the adhesive took a few days to go off properly.

I imported mine from Japan through an agent called Jesse Streeter. I think they are on eBay too.

I just ordered mine this week and it's being shipped now. They're on rakuten and yahoo.jp as well - but the price on Ebay was ok and less mucking around

    cheers

    Nice!

Where'd you get the seat belt guides? I could do with a set of these.

    I imported it from Japan.

Take a look through Superspat's Copen Mods. He makes his own.

    Hi Adam

Nice ride!! Is that a Momo steering wheel on your ride? Is it an aftermarket and did you have to use a Boss kit to get it to work?

    Cheers!!
