sorry adam forgot to ask for details on your stut brace!!!!! also wanted to be the 100th post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hadn't noticed it was so high! Crikey I have been busy. I bought it from forum member Ken who imported it from Japan hoping it would fit to his 1.3 Copen. It didn't, so I had it.
I have seen standard Copen wheels repainted a different colour. To me they never look quite right. So use to the silver finish, anything else looks odd.
I will try to repaint my wheels pearl white same as the colour of my copen but i m not very sure for the result of this project Adam K....
Had my wheels refurbed last year. I was thinking of dark recesses with diamond cut spoke surfaces, but was more expensive than painted and they wouldn't guarantee it. Ended up with them painted in a 'black chrome' finish with silver spokes fading to darker recesses. Piccie attached. P.S. the chrome wheel nuts are from MX5
I've bought an "S" badge from off a new Mini Cooper S. It's a very close match to the "S" from the Copen S decal that go on the side of the car. I'm going to stick the Cooper "S" badge at the end of the Copen badge on the boot. Matching the decal. Trouble is it might end up close to the rear spoiler. I'll see how it looks before I stick it on. I've seen it done on a Copen on the German Copen Club, however that particular Copen didn't have the boot spoiler. (I can't find the picture of it now). It's raining at the moment so I'll have to wait for a dry day.
Is it more expensive to have the front face of the spokes polished and laquered as the original finish, or having the whole wheel painted? My wheels have a few issues, no kerbing but the paint has peeled in places. I m thinking about having them refurbed but might go for relacements instead. I think my grey Copen would look pretty good with wire wheels but will probably be very pricey. BTW, i like that idea with the S Adam. I normally like to keep a car original but the mod's you've made on your car look pretty good, inside and out.
I was quoted £100 a wheel two years ago to refurb the wheels to original. Or it was @£50 just for a full powder coat finish. Thanks very much DaG. Someone please tell me if my mods get chav. Where possible I've tried to use original Daihatsu parts & accessories. Or good quality aftermarket parts from D Sport.
Adam k is a very good idea to replace the sticker COPEN S with crome COPEN S,the sticker looks very cheap for your beautiful copen
Dihatsu aftermarket D-SPORT is very expensive,so you have to look around to find parts and accessories for your copen
Hi Adam, Instead of the Copen S Decals I fitted Copen Boot Badges & Red Painted S Badges to Michaela's Copen. I Intend doing the same on the Boot but because of the Boot Spoiler I am going to remove and fix the Copen Badge lower. If anyone wants to do the same as Adam I have added my Cooper S Badges to my Sale Items. Ken.
I've just stuck my S badge on the boot. Ideally the Copen badge would need to be lowered. I didn't want to move it, plus I have no patience & wanted other badge on. I test fitted it in loads of different positions. I ended up with this: I'm happy with the finished look. Goes well with the side decals.
The only bad in your car is the exhaust. The S is very nice and will be perfect when you lower the decal about 2cm down,my opinion, but you make good work with your copen Adam K
