I've managed to get myself a set of second hand Daihatsu Accessory skirt set. The need a bit of work & re-painted in red. I've spent the past week cleaning off the old double sided securing tape & cleaning up & painting the mounting brackets. Just need to go off to the paint shop for a bit of filling & painting. Should look like new when they come back. Did a bit of a test fit using blu-tak.
Chrome Wheel Nuts Adam, Where did you get those chrome wheel nuts? And how much were they? If it was a Daihatsu part, what was the part number? - if you remember... The standard fit really look quite nasty and spoil the look. I've been trying to find some nice chrome ones but all I could find were the very long nuts - and I don't think the Ben Hur look is a good one.
Hi Ashley, They are the original wheel nuts that I had chrome plated. You can buy plastic chrome wheel nut covers off ebay that just go over the standard wheel nuts.
Ahhhh... That explains it! I don't know whether I'll go that route - chrome plating is quite expensive, I believe - and I'll need to take them all off - so the car will be off the road for days while it's being done.
Damn! but you're full of good ideas! Not too many Copens in SA - never mind scrap ones, but I can get a set of cheap wheel nuts and use them while the chroming is getting done. Depending on how much the chroming costs... I won't mind the car looking like Ben Hur's chariot for a few days - mind you James Bond's Aston Martin (in Goldfinger) also had wheel hubs that came out a long way, didn't it?
Looking good! Hi Adam, Coming along nicely! (shame about the ding on the osf wing - you should try PDR - worked on the one I had in my os door!) What's next?
Yeah, no idea how that got there. My big brother does PDR, just haven't time to go around to see him. Now the lighter nights are here I'll have more time. I'll get him to do the ones on the passenger door too.
dwayner I love your interior Adam - i think the red and black is a great sporty colour combination and works very well. I have the normal black cloth seats, but Im thinking of having a red "insert" on the seats, like down thru the middle in a tight honeycomb emboss, which ive seen on a sports car down here. its very subtle, and should look ok.
My genuine Japanese Kei car licence plate has arrived. I'm going to fit it at car shows. It's going to look cool.
Nice!! May I ask you from where you got this? I looked around and all I found were plates with astronomic high prices. rgrds Sven
