The Mini Cooper S is one of the quickest accelerating cars I've driven, but then again I've not driven many other high bhp cars to compare it to so . . . . .
Hello Lou, A bit late to welcome you on the site Hope you have confirmed the good feeling you have with your Copen. Great time with her, take care of this wonderfull turbo car: oïl change every 3k miles, no fast run with low temperature, some seconds iddle run before stop the engine... And sure you will have plenty of pleasure with it You will find many help here if needed
Just been browsing and found this. A 1996 mini cooper (ROVER) was like driving a bath. (I worked for Rover and MG) A real Mini that would compare to a Copen was the Austin Morris 1275 GT, that was awesome and i've seen one with a turbo and 130bhp. Still not the same style and panache as a Copen in this era. Hey, what an idea. A re-make of the Italian Job with Copen's.
A bit like comparing motorbikes. Yamaha RD400 verus Honda CB400 Wet Dream. (old school motorbikes). I know one is two stroke and the other four but the GT was an RD.
I jacked my job in, and got another further away, so that I can drive the Copen more And she has been dubbed "jitterbug" by a colleague, and the nickname has stuck
