No offence taken!! It's so important to have a laugh, especially when you and your Copen are no longer in the first flush of youth....I wonder how old I am in Copen years?? What's a Copen's average lifespan going to be? Maybe they'll last longer than your typical mass-produced car because they are going to be cherished by nuts like us at Copenworld ) Wonder if they'll still be around in 2214? Now I've scared myself and I need a scotch to calm down....any excuse!
You are wondering if the copen is around in 2214, got to be asking first whether society is around by then!
Old Badger - looking out for your copen yesterday as I made my trip to Selhurst, but I did spot a red copen up in the hills - yours isnt red is it?
Hi Copencat. No mine is silver. Just going to take it into bodyshop in Purley so off the road for a week or so
good luck - I just went to the coachworks and they have kindly said £10 for a bottle of paint and dont worry we shall do the first chip so you can see and do the rest yourself. Walking into their place though is like dream car shopping I believe you also have a Daihatsu specialist in Croydon - Kinghams or something like that. We are season ticket holder at Crystal Palace as my husband grew up in Streatham and I have a favourite shop in Croydon - so we are frequent visitors to your parts. I was thinking next time I see that red copen (between selhhurst and beulah (SP?) hill- i am going to leave a sign saying come to copenworld!
I wish mine was only 10 quid my bodyshop man, Carl, discovered lots of tiny dents and he's going to get someone else to knock them out. Invisibly (I hope!). Good news is that rust isn't toooo bad so should all be fixable without new panels. Nice to hear you know about Croydon - so what is that favourite shop?? Must be connected with shoes or handbags You just reminded me that there is a champagne Copen in Selsdon I see sometimes - wonder if they are already on Copenworld? While I was typing this a young fox came onto the patio and ate all the sultanas I put out for the blackbirds this morning - Trustafox !
One thing's for sure - we won't be around so it's somebody else's problem Best to relax and enjoy it - if you still can I of course am referring to all things Copen - my next challenge appears to be "claying" the bodywork when it comes back from the shop. I heard about this for the first time yesterday on here - now got to try it. Sounds like hard work lucky MLC is so small!
I intend to be around in a 100 years time. I'm gonna have my brain, previously frozen, transplanted into a cyborg. Might scare the great, great, great, great grandchildren but at least they'll still have old metal me around. I'll probably have a different car by then though.
neither actually - but im not a handbag person. Be careful what you ask for - because once you know - your wallet may be never safe again if you have women in your life. but if you do want to know of course I will tell you! I have yet to see the champagne in real life, how do you like it?
Now I am REALLY intrigued!! Do tell..... As for the champagne I'll be honest and admit I prefer drinking it ....but of course it's a matter of taste and it certainly looks elegant
Bonita on george street- run by a crazy chinese Lady called Brenda - she runs a custom dress shop under the actual shop specialising in wedding dresses. On the ground level it is lots of tatty bling - which I happen to have huge appreciation for but I get some might not.... She knows me well and I will be seeing her again this weekend to pick up a dress she altered for me. If you go - let me know so you can drop in my name. Have you picked up your car again from the body shop?
Not quite my thing but I will tell Mrs Badger. I'm sure she'd be interested! Now as for MLC, back from bodyshop and now with a wheel specialist to have the alloys refurbed. Should be picking it up Thurs. have ordered various bits including antenna and chrome door handles (inside) and I've got various bits of chrome to fit inside from ChromDesign plus the MX5 chrome nuts....looking forward to it and to giving it a good clean/claying!
I really recommend her for getting alterations or dresses made, or if you cant find a veil to match either - i would talk to her - she can get you almost an exact match - she is reasonable, shops charge crazy money for basically a bit of netting! She is a bit notoriously disorganised so plan for that. Tell her the lady with the red dress and sisters told you to find her. Oh let us know how the antenna goes on - I am def interested in that. I love a bit of chrome!
Well, Badger, hope you're well happy when MLC returns from the TLC clinic. Put some pics up - we'd love to see what the changes are. Oh, and the weather meisters are predicting a warm couple of weeks ahead (the daffs are nodding already!), so if they're on the right track you'll be ready to play!
Hi Jules going to collect MLC tomo. I'll be keeping at least 10 feet away from the kerbs on the way home! It's quite a long journey but mostly on M25. Be great to do it with the roof down!
Fingers crossed then....! Coming back from a conference in Bradford today, got to the last stretch home where the rain last night was, apparently, of Biblical proportions and BANG!! hit a massive pothole just over a rise ... argh! :-(( Out to check those new alloys ... seem OK ... steering and everything seems OK. Finished the journey gingerly, so fingers crossed now for me too! Blast - I don't want a 4x4 but the roads just seem to get worse and worse (sigh)
I know what you mean about the roads! I've had a good few shocks over the years in MLC but doesn't seem to have done any permanent damage. Copens are tough . Didn't get the car back yet they rang to say they weren't happy with the finish so they're re-doing them. Will be ready tomo but I won't be able to get them till Monday now. They also said the wheels were porous and needed extra lacquer we shall see. Enjoy the weekend! Weather forecast is very good down here - sunny and warm. Pity I don't have the car for some roof-off fun...
hooray - i did a test today - nice and easy! good luck on the pot hole front - it is the constant bain of my life i swear I am going to develop a special wrinkle devoted to copens going into potholes:-((
