Walking through an increasingly cold Whitehaven (Cumbria, for those not in the know) after work today I was blown away seeing the first Copen, since I bought Neville in November, just sitting there in the queue up to the roadworks! A lovely Champagne Gold example, top down, reg. beginning WN07, and I had barely a mo to grin stupidly at the lass behind the wheel and shout that mine was parked barely 50 yds away, before the lights changed and she was off. :-(( Was that you? If you lived in the uncharted backwaters of West Cumbria, you'd appreciate the sheer excitement generated by just seeing another of the species It was a first for me - now that the yellow orb is making its presence felt again, maybe we'll see one or two more - hope so!
Hi Jules, Well i never, your from my home territory! Grew up in Cleator just up from Grove Court Hotel which was my primary school back in the day before they changed it. Its nice to hear some of you up there drive a car with a little bit of class. Even tho i no longer own one i still do Copen spotting. I will be a Copen spotter for life! If mike needs to check anything technical to sorce parts are you ok if he comes round for a visit, he's only at Moresby. I dont think he has seen one in the flesh! (Mike's me brother) Tim
Woh, Tim, this is mega! I have been watching your posts upon your return to the fold with great interest. Your knowledge and love of Copens, and kei cars, is clearly legendary and I can see how thrilled many of the old stagers are to see you back in the ranks. Me? Well, still wet behind the ears!
