Hi @CeriCopen, This is quite a popular query. In fact I asked myself I seem to remember. At the end I bought a couple of new rear ones from a seller in eBay, s/he also sells other new Copen stuff.
DAIHATSU Copen Rear Shock Absorbers New Monroe highest quality | eBay Try contact them and see.
I have also noticed these a week ago or so but the auction ended:
Daihatsu Copen Front Wheel Shocks , Hub, Caliper Left And Right Side | eBay
The sellers seems to have a lot of second hand Copen stuff too and for what I see, not too badly priced either. I would try contact them too.

Alternatively you can buy them second hand too. I've seen them in eBay too:
Daihatsu Copen suspenion shock absorber/strut passenger nearside Front 2006 | eBay
    and
Daihatsu Copen suspenion shock absorber/strut Drivers Offside Front 2006 | eBay
    I have also bought
There may be other posts in this forum with more info on these, but there's quite a lot of content and couldn't find it.

Hope this helps. In any case, let us know. Good luck.

    Help ... Please

I am still looking to buy 2 front Shock Absorbers for my Copen.

The ebay seller who used to be able to supply Monroe Shocks can no longer source them :(

Having been looking for over a month, there are no new front shocks on ebay. :(

Daihatsu wants £177 + VAT for each one - so £424.80 a pair.

Part numbers are 48510B2400 RH 48520B2400 LH

Has anyone found any other non-standard Daihatsu shocks that work, are there any alternative aftermarket ones or racing ones?

Anyone any thoughts on these, please?

    Thanks Welz

You were so right, way too expensive and thanks for the heads up about the KYB shocks

Seems like Copen owners who want to keep their cars on the road have no cost-effective and easy option than original Shocks :(

of course theres the problem of getting these Japanese parts over to wherever you are, and I've found a website that apparently ships worldwide!

The site contains multiple suspension components from many different tuning company's.

I hope you find something :)

It is possible to rebuild shocks and get them custom valved (they could be softer in my opinion for aussie roads anyway).

    I don't really know tbh
I think I would go for either D-sport or Bilstein because D-sport has been making tuning parts for Daihatsu for years, and Bilstein because the ultimate edition Copens came with bilstein suspension.
I don't know anything about the others, so I can't comment.

Keep in mind that you get extra costs when you buy in Japan. Postage isn't cheap + import duty.

There was an episode of Wheeler Dealers some time ago where they had shock absorbers and springs custom made. I think it was for a TVR. Anyway, they reckoned it was cheaper than new OEM.

Has anyone fitted Gecko coil over shock absorbers to a Copen or another car?
They are Green in colour and made with Japanese steel etc.
The spring rates are 5k front & 4k rear for the Copen.
Blitz ones are 4k front & 3k rear.
I am wondering if they might be a bit to stiff?
I just dont want an uncomfortable rough ride...

After contacting the gecko guy they will be to hard for street use which is what I figured.
He reckons I will not be happy with the ride.
Now I am going for DGR Coil Overs front and rear.
    These are Japanese made shocks.
    The spring ratings are:
    F 4
    R 2.5
Its down 0.5 on the rear springs as most seem to have 3, but as the Copen is very light on the back I don't see it being a problem.
If you feel the car is to bouncy at the back or bumps seem to come through the seat then drop the rear tyre pressure. My tyre guy said put less in the back so I only run 28psi now.
I wanted fully adjustable front and rear, otherwise I dont see the point in changing them for cheap shocks.
These have 30 different height settings so I can get the car exactly how I want it.
These also include pillow ball on the front shocks for easy camber adjustment.

Hi, just wondering how the DGR coilover installation went? Do The front strut mounts have a 2 bolt pattern or 3 bolt pattern? Asking because having issues trying to source a replacement front mount for my copen . These 2 are Very hard to come by as well as the shocks

Super easy to fit. Took about 4hrs only because I spent time cleaning the rubbers and adjusting them to match the originals.
The fit exactly like the originals.
I fitting front and rear though. If doing the rears as well I suggest ordering back spring rubbers and replace them at the same time. They will have to ordered from a dealer as they will not be supplied. Not expensive.
My car is the L880K model not the 1.3.
Check the website of DGR and see if they make some to suit your model.
I bought these through mechanic shop in Brisbane. They were directly shipped from Japan to me.

How do you find the ride on these new coilovers? Comfy for a daily?

    Hi

Has anyone thought of fitting air ride to a Copen? They do it in the States on older cars when they can’t get the parts.
