After being horrified at finding a pond in the boot, after making sure things like petrol tank etc.etc. were not in the way, I went for drilling a small hole in the body work at the lowest point where the water accumulated. Hope it can at least drain away now . Picture attached.

    Hi,
Did you figure out what caused the leak? Had this recently, tried the boot light seal and checked other seals but still seemed to be leaking in somewhere.
    Thanks

    Hi All

Drilling a hole in the under skin which is essentially part of the structure of the car, being a monocoque shell should be avoided. All holes in the vehicle will have a rubber bung in for the purpose of drainage. Note on finding leeks: - Last resort you can test with small smoke pot which is the final resolve which classic car restorers use to find leaks. Keeping all rubber seals in good order using trim restorer is a benefit to keep them supple and watertight. Most leaks in the Copen boot originate from the top brake light as it sits in a recess.
Joke, in the case of a Copen employ a garden gnome to reside in the boot. Spray the closed Car with a water hose and ask him where the waters coming in, let him out when he tells you!!! Happy Days :D
