Hey guys... I have just decided on a used red Copen! http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=370788&DL=1136 It's a 2006 registered ride... so I am left with just 3 years to play with it, unless I pay for another 10 years ownership certificate. The condition of the car looks relatively new but I absolutely hated the black sports rims. I will be collecting it on next Wed/Thurs and will post more photos then. cheers! Joe
Congrats man! I have one just like it! Looks like the previous owner spraypainted the silver rims to black... You can always get new sports rims!
welcome Joe. Hope you enjoy your car. Is that price correct? I used an online converter and $35,800 singapore dollars works out about £18,000 !!!!
Hi Joeleow. How much is a ten year owner certificate and is that instead of road tax? It looks like the price of cars in Singapore is hugely expensive going off that price.
Yes, the price is correct. I managed to reduce the price slightly to S$33,000 though. There is still the cost of road tax and insurance to think about. Check out the price of a brand new Copen below. The price entitles us to drive the car for only ten years. http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_overview.php?CarCode=10327 Count your blessings guys!
Unfortunately, black wheels are not for me. The red inserts should be part of the stock setup... pretty worn out actually. Hoping to re-wrap into beige Nappa leather, hope it suits the red exterior.
I was thinking of removing the badges and replace them with Kumoi vintage badges but the sales fella says the car is 7 years old and the paint might come off together with the badges. Is that true?
I removed the badges on my 03 plate a few weeks ago. The paint that was under the badges is in better condition than any of the other paint on the car.
Use some solvent (propanol) which will help weaken the glue. I've read others have used dental floss to remove badges. I don't think beige would go in a red car. Bad move. Edit: I just looked at the advert photos and saw the red centres to the seating. I think the red does go in your car as I had initially thought it was just the door inserts that were red in the cockpit.
I must say a black rear plate looks great. better than the UK yellow one which looks dreadful on most car colours.
Will give the solvent a try soon... The beige on red should look something like this... hope it turns out well for me.
In Singapore, its either black plates for front & rear or white front and yellow rear. So most private vehicles would go for both blacks unless they are driving a yellow car.
First mod! Courtesy of the sales agent... beige mats... probably doesn't match the other interiors for now... but hope everything will come together eventually...
