Yep, I have the dreaded leak and tried a fix but it didn't work. Ive ordered the proper seal from Amayama - BIG MISTAKE. I think they're a scam company. Anyone got another idea for a supplier?

Don't waste your time with questionable seals. Silicone sealant is the permanent answer.

I installed new clear style brake light last year. Although the boot has remained dry, that was until I found significant damp a couple of days ago. It's not easy to determine the cause or entry of the moisture, but I will certainly be sealing the light with silicone, simply to reduce the possibility of ingress.

It may help to mask around the light first. You can get sealant in small tubes which may help control the application. Or transfer the sealant to a syringe. Any excess can be removed, wet or dry, with a pure citrus solvent. That's the stuff that feels oily, as opposed to the cheap citrus degreaser which is soapy and looks and smells like orange squash. I use this one fin_qpflc12.jpg Finish Line Citrus BioSolvent Degreaser
