Hi, I really love my car, but it's impossible for my wife to drive stick. So with little hope I ask thee, is there anyway for this transformation? thank you
Hahaha. Have to agree. The wife goes before the car does. The whole fun of owning a Copen is its a mini manual convertable
Teach her how to control the beast of a car. She will soon get use to it. You could also customise the gear stick?
Ok thanks for negotiation and persuasion tactics, but isn't there any real mechanic or engineer that could really approach the matter in a scientific way?
No problem then. Just buy a Toyota automatic gear box and fit it in place of the manual box. To be on the safe side better also get a new bell housing as they may not match. If it was me I'd exchange the whole lump. You will have to be prepared to weld on some new mounts, change the drive shafts and the shift will be different. After that try insuring it.
Yeah, good luck with that!! Bear in mind, Auto's have different engine ECU's, wiring looms, the selector kit will be different, the interior trim will be different. I am no expert, and I don't know if there were any 1.3 auto copens ever made. I have never seen one.
I don't believe there were any 1.3L autos. The 1.3L was a European thing. In Japan, there is a 660cc auto model.
