    Hi all

Im gutted. I woke up to find that my roof seal had been slashed. Well i think it has. There is a fine cut about 12in long central to the roof on the upper part of the seal.
I opened the roof up last week end and dont know if it got trapped and split. i doubt it as it is in good condition.
I have a nasty feeling it could be someone very close next door if you know what i mean.
I dont want retribution i just want to fix it.
Any suggestions or similar situations anyone????????????

I hate when peoples cars get messed with. Really gets my goat.
I've never heard of seals getting damaged from opening the roof. Failure of seals is usually down to the degradation of seals.
It does indeed sound like your the victim of vandolisum. It's not nice to know that someone has messed with your car. Give it a good check all over to make sure you haven't missed anything else.
Not sure which seal is damaged, here's one off eBay:

Is it a very straight clean cut or ragged/frayed edges?
If its been cut its like to be clean. A tear would be more uneven as the rubber rips apart or from ages.

Check your brake lines, all wheel nuts are on, tyres not got a slash (could be a none penetrated one to weaken it). If any of these you need to contact the police as thats endangering life. Petrol cover not been forced open?

It's a strange way to get at someone slashing a rubber seal. Most idiots would have just keyed the paintwork instead of carefully inserting a Stanley knife to do a 12" cut.
