The beep noise and red flash to indicate that the roof is retracting in my copen is going off intermittently, with no apparent reason.
Ive had it at the garage to check the electrical connections etc, and the roof has been lubricated and still works fine. No faults were identified and they can't work out why this is happening.
Seems to have come on all of a sudden.

Just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem, and has any idea how to sort it out?

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Welcome to Copenworld Sunrise043.
The roof beeping noise happens when the roof latches are un-latched & the car is moving. Perhaps one of the switches at the top of the windscreen is failing or has a dodgy connection.
I'd get those switches checked out.

Yeah, i had thought that. But the garage said they had checked the microswitches inside the latches and that nothing appeared to be at fault.
    Can those be replaced?

    Those sensors can be replaced.

Once you have been a member here a few days you get access to download the Service manuals for the Copen. See the Directory Tab at the top of the forum.
Look in section I5 of the Chassis Service Manual & the Technical Information manual.
Has the garage checked the ECU for any fault codes?
Is the garage you are dealing with a ex-Daihatsu dealer or is it an independant garage?

I had this exact problem, and i fixed it!!
There is a little peice of metal, on the roof hatch that you unlock up near the drivers side sunvisor. You put the roof down and you can feel it, its small and when the roof is on, it presses down. but it sometimes runs loose and happened for about a week, before i located it. i just bent it down with my finger - its like a small peice of bent metal. problem sovled. Also, if you take the roof off or put the roof up when the car is not on level ground, it doesnt close on this little metal "thing" properly.
Try it..the roof just shakes it loose over time, and it just comes loose itself.
every now and then, it plays up mainly when i go over a bump etc.
