Hi, My first modification: The sun visors didn't seem to be much use and they were constantly obstructing the roof catches, so I decided to remove them. I used the original sun visor-shaft plates to mount blue LEDs (other colours available) as an alternate interior light and to cover the holes left after sun visor removal. Photos attached. Cost was about 24 SGD(12 GBP): - 2xLED's = 9 SGD - 2xLED lamp holders = 6 SGD - Cable = 3 SGD - Heat shrink 1 SGD - Rubber spacers (tap washers) - 2 SGD - Adhesive = 3 SGD The project took 2 hours to complete. LED's & LED lamp holders etc available at Sim Lim Tower(Singapore) or superbrightleds[dot]com. Cheers, Scooter.
Nifty little mod. does your interior light still function or have to removed/isolated it? Did you need to remove the roof catches and trim to get the access to the wiring?
I did buy a LED replacement lamp for the original interior light but decided not to use. And, the cabling for the new lamps passes through the space around the original lamp. No need to remove the roof catches and trim as the cabling can be fed through the cut outs in the windscreen surround quite easily. Cheers, Scooter.
