Could someone please advise me on how to remove the inner door handle that operates the door lock on a Copen. I want to remove the door panel and have removed the screw that holds the door handle cover, but do not know whether I should move this cover forward or backwards to unclip it. I am afraid of breaking it if I force it.

You have to ease flat bladed screwdriver (with tape on) between the door lock and door lock frame, see youtube video ref attached. Hope this helps, as worked for me

Thanks ClareL and Kay! It worked like a bomb. Door handle frame came off in seconds. This after I wasted the whole of Friday phoning Daihatsu agencies to find out how to do it. Daihatsu has recently shut down all it's operations in South Africa and while Toyota agents will import and supply spares in future, everything seems to be in limbo now.

It's the same in the U.K. I asked my ex daihatsu dealer to fit some vent rings that I was having trouble with and they gave up after they couldn't find the answer on this forum  all the posts they found were the ones I'd posted seeing if anyone knew how to do it

I'm glad we could help, you will find most of the information you need for your Copen on here and there are lots of experienced people to help when you get stuck :)
