So i took a plunge and ordered this last night and a whole host of wire harness converters and iso to din ariel connection.

The unit came today and it turns out i didn't need anything extra to fit it.

    Picture 1. The unit.
Picture 2. Wiring harness of existing copen slots right into harness of new stereo.
Picture 3. The gap it's going into.
Picture 4. The original side mounts from old stereo, bend the top lugs straight.
Picture 5. The unit with the side mounts attached.
Picture 5. The unit in position ready to screw in.
Picture 6. All in and working.

Comes with Gps, blue tooth, nav maps, rear reverse camera, built in mic and also a hands free mount ( not fitted as yet).
Hope this helps anyone thinking of getting a double din.

    Cheers all.

Nice, where did you get it?
    What about the sound quality?

Bought it off amazon, And the sound quality is far better than the original unit and gets loud enough to listen to with the roof down.

A very cheap upgrade at £145.

    Looks good.

Have you hooked it up to your handbrake switch so that it can't play DVDs/movies on the move or is that a job for the day before the MOT ;)

Incidentally, what's the big pipe in the void ?

no not yet don't think i have to. in the instructions it says when you go to play a dvd you will hear sound but get no picture only a warning saying " note handbrake is on, video is forbid " then you just go into setup>general>brake set> on or off.

The big pipe in the void i am not sure tbh, its either part of the Air duct or part of the support column of the dash.

The only thing i am struggling with is the reverse camera. I have the reverse light link set up so when you hit reverse the screen comes on, but finding a 12v power supply and negative connection for the camera is eluding me. Anyone else managed to splice into the loom for this ?.

I think the easiest is to tap into the wire feeding the reversing light itself.

Cheers. all sorted now went and got a new voltage meter had a poor slice on the reverse wire all sorted now everything working as intended and decided to finish the trim off with some 4d carbon fibre wrap.
