Presumably as part of my lowering onto a can last week. essentially, to put the roof down I now have to do the following.... release the catches as per normal. then, get out, open the boot fully, close it, then pull the open switch as per normal. it then goes down correctly - and goes up correctly too but come the next time, I still have to do the boot. clearly the roof is confused somewhere along the line but fortunately the mechanics are ok as it opens and closes correctly. anyone have an idea how to reset things back to normal? thanks!
Have you tried rebooting it, disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. That often fixes a multitude of sins.
The roof doesn't work if the boot is open so your car obviously thinks the boot isn't closed. Opening and closing it reminds it that it is closed but it is a strange one all the same. Did the can do any damage to the roof?
The interior boot release button is also the reset for the roof system. Which is why it then letsbyou open the roof & close it again. I'd go for the battery disconnect solution too. Not sure if you need to keep it disconnected for 10 minutes or so though?
Good to know. Got worried today when we stopped at the local shop for supplies (wine) had the roof down & opened the boot to put the bottles in & the boot wouldn't auto close. Faffed around for a bit turning engine on, tried to raise roof then kept the button down on the fob which released the boot catch again then the boot auto shut. I was getting really worried for a bit!
think I've finally fixed the issue - all due to finally reading my manual basically there's 2 blue catches in the boot. they were in the out position, turned them, they popped back into place and now the roof seems to be behaving again. famous last words I know but I live in hope...............
