My first small mod is some front mud flaps.

I have made a small Alloy bracket for the front underside of the sill that is fixed to the existing hole for the wheel arch liner using a plastic fastener and also used the existing holes around the wheel arch. No extra holes have been made.

They seem to work well and after the journey to work this morning I have a good splattering of mud on the flaps rather than down the side of the car!!!

I will try here to insert some images so apologies if it fails!!

There was a time when the first thing I'd fit to a car was a set of mudflaps but I never bother now. I don't see them on other cars as well they don't seem popular these days.
Are they bought flaps you modified or did you make them yourself from a sheet of plastic?

They are made from a roll of flexible plastic sheet I have at work. I may modify the shape a bit when I see where the mud is being deposited on the underside of the car. They are certainly protecting the underside of the sills and stopping the road grime that coats the side of the sills and lower part of the door. Hopefully it should look cleaner for longer and reduce the chance of muck being transferred to my partners clothes as she gets in and out!!

My Focus has moulded mud l flaps fitted from the factory as does my Sprinter Van. I wish my VX 220T had been fitted with something as I have quite a few stone chips down the side of it now!

On the Copen it's a quick job to remove them which I may do during the summer months.
