Thanks for responding it's two holes both size of Apple sorry I'm not very good at taking photos the mechanic said a weilder can put some plates in rather than new sills would that seem a good idea and then paint them in later

Used to have a White Copen, but I sold it in 2023
I don't know how much its going to cost, not too much probably.
I would go for welding in new metal and sealing the whole car with rust inhibitor/wax/oil
But apart from that, take good care of your car. Take care of maintenance religiously otherwise you'll need another engine soon :D

Apple is a pretty big company, if the holes are that size is there any car left? :p

Not even got my Copen yet, picking it up Tuesday, but I'm planning to get it up on a ramp or stands and give the bottom a proper inspection, I've read they do have rust problems since they weren't designed for salted roads.

Advice here says to give it a good clean (wire brushes, don't use a jet wash, high pressure water getting into little crevices is exactly what you don't want) then seal it with something to prevent rust, still looking through various reviews on which exactly to use, but most say the black WaxOyl is awful and the worst choice, clear version might be ok.

On the engine maintenance I'm checking my oil frequently and Will filter and oil change every 3000 miles and when the weilding done I intend too intensive rust proofing my car came with only 1 key and fob would like to get another set again haven't got a clue how easy it is to get another set

I had holes in both sills at the front of the rear wheel arches where the water trap is patched with welded-in plates and some damage repaired behind one of the front wheel arches for £400 plus VAT by a local firm. That price also included a touch-up to a corroded corner on the front of the bonnet!

Finally have a MOT weilding cost 150 for patches on sills been quoted 280 for tarting up rear arches didn't think that's to bad looking forward to getting to drive her such a fun car I think it's going be well worth it
