Lin asked me the other week what I would like for my birthday?

These days, that means what would you like to buy Buzz for my birthday? :)

Recently, I'd been looking at him and thought he looked much too 'pretty', 'cute' 'sweet' and well, 'silver'. All of the reasons why I thought I'd change things a bit.

I really love the black chrome Ultimate Edition grille, so I thought I'd extend the theme.

I sold the silver OZ Superturismo alloys to a lucky new Copen last week, and upgraded them to a new set of black OZ Superturismo GTs fitted with Toyo Proxes T1R fast road tyres.

When fitted yesterday, I asked Lin what she thought. She said that I'd 'ruined' him. Apparently, Buzz is no longer pretty, cute or sweet, but he is now 'evil' and 'aggressive'. Mission accomplished I'd say :D

I've attached a couple of photos of 'evil' Buzz. I'd love to know what fellow Copen fans think. Hope to hear from you soon!

    Cheers!

hopefully soon a new grey copen!
Well I am not a fan of black alloys, but you have definitely accomplished getting Buzz looking lean and mean :) those alloys have just completely changed him and he definitely looks more like a Buzz to me.

I never used to like black alloys but I'm slowly starting to change my mind.
The close up picture looks great I like the orange lettering, a nice contrast. The other pictures, probably because of the camera angle the wheels look massive. Have you got a side view picture straight, not angled? I'd like to see what they look like full side on.
I found myself looking at this below last night. A few years ago I wouldn't have even considered buying it because of the black wheels.

Thanks very much for the replys to DaG and copencat. Much appreciated! :D

In my opinion, silver wheels on a silver car does work, but it's just too monotone and, well, silver for my taste.

I wanted to give Buzz a bit of contrast, which I feel I've achieved with the black wheels. I do appreciate however, that this won't be to everyone's liking.

Next, I need to find a nice rear heat/exhaust guard which I can spray in a black, as close as possible to the finish of the UE grille, and then I think I'll stop there.

When I next can, I'll take a photo side on as suggested, so that you get a good 'flat' perspective shot.

Oh, I nearly forgot to say that I've got some black McGard nuts on the way. Obviously, they will blend nicely with the wheels.

On the subject of black alloys on black cars, they can suffer from the 'black blob' effect that I've described with silver if they're dirty, however if the the car is very clean and polished, as the MG seems to be in the photos, then I think they look ultra cool! :D:cool:

Please can I ask any other members what they think?

    Cheers!

Good evening to you all on Copenworld. Hope you are all well?

In response to DaG's request, I've taken a 'side on' photo of 'Evil Buzz' and his new wheels/tyres.

    Cheers!

I never liked black alloys because I always thought they had that lost wheeltrim look. The main spoiler with yours is the high profile of the tyres. Then again that is also what spoils the standard wheels
I like black alloys with a bit of silver included. The front face of the spokes silver with the rest of the wheel black is for me a good look. Pic below.
You're right the mg is a bit too black and the shininess has drawn me in.:)
The silver nuts on your car look ok for me, you'll have to post another Pic when you fit the black nuts.

Sorry but does look too 'Evil' for my taste.
