Found the article written July '13, by accident . http://profit.ndtv.com/news/industries/article-as-fuel-prices-soar-japanese-automakers-eye-india-for-the-kei-car-324470 By the way, I like this one - Subaru 360 Rex.
Interesting Wish they would sell more kei cars in the UK. Hello Honda, I want one of these please A Honda Mugen N-One
That Honda looks a little familiar; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_N360 Honda look like they are doing an update on an old car like BMWMini and Fiat 500. Except instead of just going for looks Honda have kept true to the small car small engine concept.
uk needs more of these - but with a flagrant ignoring of the engine rules - give us something that gives super economy and large service intervals.
That is beautiful but wouldn't be a Kei car with the engine sizes they're talking about in the news. Kei class cars have a maximum allowance of 660cc & 63hp. It could've been the new Honda Beat.
Thank you Adam, I've learnt something new. So that means the Copen 1.3 doesn't fall under yellow plate cars.
they didn't ever sell that one in japan. personally, I think it's a good think to take a Japanese kei car and ask the question ' without the Japanese law to hold us back, is there a better engine we could use?' by better that could be performance or could be increased service intervals or better fuel efficiency.
I'm afraid so. However the European 659 Copen isn't 100% Kei either. As it gained 3hp on it's trip over. The Suzuki Jimny is another example of a Kei car with an engine transplant.
