Welcome to copenworld. It looks like you know a lot more about tuning than I do. Have you changed the exhaust, or tried a go-faster stripe. M.
what management u running with it? slightly larger intercooler wouldnt go a miss, and an air filter, along with an exhaust and decat..... with them few plus the kit u have/getting, should be one quick copen
For those of you who are into modifications (I am fine with the car's hp as it is) and have an 1.3l non-turbo engine, maybe you could check here. They mention fitting a Rotrex supercharger to a Daihatsu Esse. (Rotrex makes after-market turbos etc for several cars; while they don't specifically have Daihatsu on their list, they seem to do it).
ECU Remapping Has anyone found a company that are able to remap the ECU of the 660cc Copen, All the advertising I have seen promices 20-25% increase in power but no one seems to list the Copen as a car they can remap.
I think there is a company in Germany that does it, but you need to send them your ECU. Scooty can you confirm?
Yes, some over here have done it. Two companies I know of: http://translate.google.de/translat...x.php4?action=show_datenblatt&fahrzeugID=1576 599 EUR http://translate.google.de/translate?hl=de&sl=de&tl=en&u=http://www.wimmer-rst.de/chiptuning.html 795 EUR Andreas
I think I might look out for a second hand ECU on Ebay, send tham that one for remapping and then just swap mine out.
wowzers thats quite pricey!! we recently became the first people in the uk to map suzuki cappucinos and are awaiting a reply from admin here about trader status, maybe we can help, but let here back from admin first. James
Hi James, I see you found the information on the ECU's. I'd be interested to see what you come up with.
Hmmm not sure on that one. I've seen a drawing for the ECU layout. Scooty (runs the German Copen site) might know. You can download the service manual for the 659 Copen in the directory section at the top of the forum. I'm sure I've seen a wiring diagram in it. Might help for the pin outs. You might need to make a couple more posts before you get access to it.
Hi jdmodified Have you made any progress with the remapping? Do you need a guinnie pig car for testing on? I'm still looking for someone in the UK to do the remapping as the German option is pretty pricy and they don't seem to want to reply to my emails. Regards Sam
