Hi All, Just wondered how many of you own white copens, I have one but never see any on the road or for sale in white. Thanks, tKC
I've a white Copen, Pearl edition (Only for the Swiss market). But other then mine, I've never seen any other white Copen...
I have one and I have seen a handful of white ones, but just like the black version, they are quite rare
I have one but it was a Japanese import over 15 years ago to Cyprus (2002 L880K 4 cylinder). Pearl white with body updates - used to be silver. I preferred the original but there are very few in any colour to choose from here in Cyprus. This is not a stock photo - it is my actual car
Thanks! Hoping to get central locking installed tomorrow - the seller had nothing - no paperwork and only one key. Reckon it was owned by a young Russian in Nicosia who tarted it up to run up and down the waterfront before selling to the previous owner. I still prefer your original - far better.
I hope everything will be ok tomorrow ! And thanks for your complment about mine ;-) What wheels are those on your car ?
Hi Roy, Central locking worked! Got the unit on ebay and the local car electrical garage fitted it (the old one no longer had the master key). Fitting, replacing all of the dashboard backlights, fixing the cigarette lighter, checking if the fog lights work - no longer there due to the body kit) and heated seats was 100 euro which I think was a bargain. I really don't know the make of the wheels - they are black but with flecks of red and gold in them and a reddish inside rim. They fit low profile 175/50R15 tyres. They only just fit the bodywork! Best wishes, David
Thanks for your answer and congrats about the job done ! It's so much nice to have a functionnal car. Those wheels looks good to me. What brand are your tires ? I'm using 165/50 15 Nankang NS2R on mine and they're great !
They were brand new when I bought the car - never heard of the make - "NEXEN" Nexen tires maintain great reviews from a few different sources. Listed on their website, most of their tires have a rating of above four stars, out of five, and shoppers have plenty of great things to say about them. Nexen tires also maintain high reviews from Consumer Reports and Tire Rack
Oh nice Katie, what colour was it originally? mines a UK car in pearl white, I've never seen another here.
That's interesting. Here in Japan, white is the most popular color. You either see white, or the very boring grey (sorry, gray owners, just my personal preference). Mine is white, and I'm quite keen on this as being the prettiest color. Either white or black. I can also see why people would like the red or yellow. Blue or forest green? Not my cup of tea. I'd rank blue the lowest. Maybe forest green for a Midget or a Mini, but the lines of the Copen just seem to pop with white or black (especially the contrast with the red taillights). I can see why some might like purple, but again, not my thing. I do wonder if there is any data out there on how many L880ks were sold by color.
Here is a link showing the number of Copens sold in the UK market, along with the colours they were sold in. Mine is in metallic champagne colour, but the DVLA refers to it as gold. I guess they ran out of names. How Many DAIHATSU COPEN Are Left?.
How weird! Thx for the link. White really is by far the rarest out there. I wonder why. It's like #1 or #2 here. I wish I could find such data for Japan. I tried before but couldn't find any. And there seems to be around 4x more automatics than manuals for sale currently. Seems like Japanese women like the car, and particularly white. Odd that there is two color categories on your link for grey and silver. Here's its just one...it's somewhere in the middle of grey/silver.
