Hello Everyone and thank you for accepting me. I thought I'd add to the Scottish Copen owners clan. I got my Copen at the beginning of July and have been bombing around Midlothian in it ever since. I was in the market for a new car and lockdown made me re-evaluate a few things. I realised that the thing I need most in my life is some fun and the Copen delivers this in spades. I smile every time I drive her!
Welcome Scottish Copen Owner, I live in Aberdeenshire, however did buy from a guy in Edinburgh, looks to be the same as yours, silver, red leather seats. 1st job get it undersealed if not already done, as you know we have salt on the roads for 6 month of the year . I found a few websites for spares/service parts, most things are available, I was told it is a Toyota Yaris engine so service garage should be easy to find. Thank you for the welcome guys. I got my Copen from Englandshire. She is fully undersealed already and has zero rust that I can see. FSH and has recently had a new turbo fitted. She's very nearly mint. She was serviced and the oil and filter changed when I bought her and as she has done 3000 miles I took her in for an oil change today. However they didn't have the correct size filter so refitted the old one with my permission. So my questions are what size filter do I need and are they easy to get hold of or do I have to import them? The one I currently have is a Daihatsu genuine part. Thank you.
google "Daihatsu Copen oil filter" (or go here https://www.euspares.co.uk/parts-catalog/oil-filter-10359/daihatsu/copen) and choose any filter that is 50mm tall Taller ones are a pain to install.
