I've had my Copen for almost 10 years. I'm in Scotland where there are no dealers left (that I can find). I've got a good mechanic that will actually try to fix her but there's a few outstanding issues that he can't deal with. One is the electronic key fob won't work (I'm sure you all know about the awkward placing of the internal boot opening button!) and also one of the seats won't heat any more. My mechanic says I'd have to buy a whole new seat??

Silly question but have you changed the battery in the fob?

Yes, twice, and re-set the car after the battery changes!

The Ex-Daihatsu dealers are still able to get parts from Daihatsu ect, the 2 nearest you are pretty far away still though.

For the seat, I have no idea really on repair or what might be wrong, but if you look for copens breaking for parts on ebay you might be able to source a seat reasonably cheaply.

for the seatheater. Did you check the voltage at the connector under the seat?:wasntme: maybe a broken wire.

Activate the seat heater switch, then remove the electric connector from the heater and test if any voltage goes to the connector. this way you can verify the heater itself is defective and not the switch/wiring
