    Hey Guys

I used to be a member of this site ages ago, not sure where my login went.. I have not owned my copen in a long time..

Anyways I do own a L200 Daihatsu Mira TRXX which I have fitted a JB-DET (660cc turbo) into.

I tried purchasing a workshop manual online, it stated all engine models but sadly once paid for it only had the K3-VE motor not the JB... and the seller is being difficult with a refund.

Can anyone please please tell me where I could get a manual from? and if you guys/gals are interested I can post up some info and pics of my car

There is an engine manual under the Directory tab at the top of this site. You will need to be a member here for a few days, and post a bit, for it to be downloadable for you.

What do you want to know, I will post you the relevant sections.

Bear in mind there are quite a few ancillary differences between the mira and the copen.

I also have quite a bit of TRXX literature, and I have worked on a couple too.

I understand the differences mate lol

Ive played with many mira's over the years...
Currently building a L700 with a K3-VET in it, but at the very early stages at the moment.
I have the motor and stuff but waiting for a shell to fit it into...

Anyways the L200 TRXX original motor was a 6valve 3cyl carby turbo.. so I fitted the 660cc copen motor into it... its a hoot to drive. (approx 200kg lighter)

I managed to find the manuals online on another site for free so Im cheering about that...

Perhaps someone could help me with my issue though

The car has begun running really really rich, and when it comes on to boost it just bogs down from all the fuel... I can literally see the fuel gauge move after a 5km drive... its using about 5litres per 5 kilometers...

So I do not think fuel pressure is my issue....

What have I attempted so far?
    New Spark plugs
    New Coils
New Front O2 sensor (this is the only item the computer was complaining about)

All these parts have resulted in no fixing..
I have replaced most of the vacuum hoses and still no improvement, I do not think it is a vacuum leak.

So I do have a question to you guys.... and ill tell you now I have done around 30,000km in the car since the conversion without issue.... but never the less I will ask.. the copen runs a returnless fuel system.

At which section is the fuel regulator? is it part of the plastic unit within the copen tank?
I removed the copen pump from a copen tank and retro fitted it into my L200, less the plastic part.

I do not feel this is my issue, but somehow the car has begun swallowing petrol and driving like crap and the computer is not telling us anything.. even driving around with the scantool plugged in the figures all look good on the MAP, O2 etc....

Anyone had this problem in the past?

Yes the regulator is part of the tank saddle, and you must use it.

If you have not regulated your fuel rail system, there is a possibility you may have damaged an injector, which would possibly explain your fuelling issues.

If you have no regulator and tank return, I am amazed your fuel pump has last this long!

But this is all just keyboard talk, without the car in person I can do nothing but speculate.

And with a conversion, who ever took on building/owning this project should be capable of resolving it :p

    Thanks for your response.
I suspected this could be a possibility, I have run the car for 30,000km though so.. I reached this conclusion last night though that potentially I have a damaged injector that now is just flooding the motor with fuel.

In regards to who built it... I did, took me over two years and parts from L200,L500,L502,L600,L601,L602 and L880k to make it all work. Gotta love how Daihatsu's are basically just grow up lego...

I have the workshop manual but am unable to find the fuel pressure, do you know what rate the fuel pressure should be?

Off the top of my head it will me 47psi or there abouts.

All returnless injection systems I have tested over the years sit there.

Without a reg you will be more like 70psi.

I would also double check that your map readings are actually true - e.g. with a gauge.

Check that your tps reading are true.

I had the car on a mates dyno today, confirmed the MAP readings are correct (with a gauge and electronically match)

I think you and me have the same idea on the returnless thing happening with my car not having the reg...

So I have just ordered one of these (L902 JB-DET Fuel Rail, With return)

    http://page15.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/t340738848

Should get it in roughly two weeks...
