Hi everybody, I'm from France and in one month i'll go in England to buy a little Copen. I'm impatient to have this little car. When i will have it, i'll post some pictures. Sébastien
The brexit is at the end of March and i planed my trip on middle February so that will be ok. My futur car is reserved, i just need to wait for now... The waiting is loooooong ^^ That will by a grey one with red leather. I'm impatient.
Have you found the car already ? If so, where is it as I’m sure a nearby forum member would be happy to help you look over it.
Yes i found it. It is in Romford. It is a professional saler so i think there won't is no problem. It have 2 copen for sale, and i will go with a friend to buy the 2.
I don’t know what it’s like in France, but car dealers in the UK are not necessarily the most honest or professional so make sure you carry out a full inspection.
Yes we have the same problem in France. Some professional are not honest. We will inspect the car before buy it. We just make a 100£ deposit so it's not a big engagement. The car have a good MOT since new so it's a good beginning. He said it's in very good condition, i hope it's the truth. I'll arrive February 14th and the seller will pick me directly at the airport.
Good luck whatever you decide. I’m pretty sure there’s a buyers guide on this forum but just make sure all the switches, windows, roof, boot, fans, lights work and don’t be afraid to walk away if it isn’t right. Lift the boot carpets and check all the aluminium pump and motor components. The boot should be dry and virtually rust free. The aluminium should be free from corrosion, which shows as a white bloom. I walked away from a couple where the boot and motors looked like they’d had leaks in the past.
I found the buyer guides yes. I know the rust is a big problem. It's the third car i buy in UK. Thank you for the tips of the boot carpets. If the car isn't in very good condition i will prefer to negotiate the price than search an another one.
Hello ! This weekend was a great weekend ! I went in England to buy my Copen. A little picture : It was a great pleasure to drive on english road and cross the France to leave home. Now I'm in southern France and I will enjoy it this spring and summer
Looks good and it looks like you managed to get the roof down too. We need more pics of it in the new home.
