Can anyone tell me if the 1.3engine cover is the same as the 659 cc version?

Went to change the battery in my wife's Copen & noticed the engine cover is missing. Asked the last garage we had it serviced in if they had but they didn't. The last time I looked under the bonnet was nearly 2 years ago & we've used 2 different garages since then.

One brakers yard quoted me £100 plus P&P for a replacement but there's a chap selling one for a lot less on eBay but it's from a 1.3 hence my question.

    Pretty sure it's different!

Thats your problem right there. You better check your car regularly (fluids, overall condition, leaks) to ensure proper functionality...and you would notice if something goes missing :D
And I can confirm, the 1.3 engine cover is different from the 660

Thank you. The one pictured on eBay is the same as the 2nd photo but it did not specify which model in the description. Many of the other items he has listed are from a 1.3 so I assumed they were all from the same Copen.

Like I said it's my wife's car & she told me her father taught her a long time ago how to check all the cars essentials. Plus she check all her works company cars once a week too. Which pretty much points to the last garage we used responsibly for loosing it really!

Does it actually serve any propose other than looks?
Mines been in my garage for about a year now as I'm too lazy to reinstall it.
I figured it was just unneeded weight anyway.

Thats the piece of information I did not have. I expected that nobody ever bothered to open the bonnet. But if your wife is a pro, that is good :D
You can probably drive without the cover; on my 1.3 model it does not have much purpose except from keeping the dirt out

I think it is just cosmetic and to kerp any crap off the top of the engine. The one on our 660 is solid plastic so definitely not for sound deadening.
