    Hi,

The Yellow engine check light came on whilst driving "Babe" yesterday the manual isn't much help, has anyone got any ideas or do I have to drive 30 miles to my nearest dealer and be ripped off.
The car is still driving very well with no obvious problems, but I am concerned if I should still be driving it.
    Any tips or advice welcome.:(

You don't need a dealer to read the codes. Any mechanic with a scan tool can, at least, read the codes. If they've paid for Autocom / Delphi, they most certainly can reset nearly all the codes.

Notice anything unusual lately? Have you tried removing the negative terminal from the battery, for about a half an hour to see if the code goes away?

You'll need to plug in a code reader to the multiport under the dash. The plug is above the clutch pedal. You can get cheap code readers on eBay but you might still be guessing. They give you a clue though. A garage should have decent diagnostic kit that can pinpoint better.

FWIW, I had a MIL pop up on the old Pajero after I went off roading... Turns out it was a single misfire in the 4th cylinder and was cleared by removing the negative battery terminal for a while.
