I was wondering if you guys have a routine that you do each year during the winter to keep the top in working condition. Like, do you leave it closed the whole winter, or do you occasionally open it to move things around to ensure that rust isn't building up, moving around the hydro fluid, etc. If so, how often? I figure that keeping it closed all winter can't be good. I did lube up the rubber with rubber treatment spray and sprayed some WD-40 on the hinges, but other than that, just wondering. I figured I probably should open it at least once a month. Any advice? Much appreciated if you have any.
I open mine each 3/4 weeks. As you said, to move the hydro fluid and to ensure everything is working fine.
Yup, same here. I try and put the roof up and down a couple of times every 4 weeks or so through the winter months. Make sure you do it with the engine running. Hydronic fluid is notorious for absorbing static water from damp air etc so cycling through a roof up/down just helps move the fluid around. You also soon spot any sticking areas of the mechanism well before they could jam or break.
