    Hi guys,

Anyone keen to design their own meter panel? :D

I was in talks with Cyberstork to customise a classic white panel like the one below.

However they need the design work to be done in Adobe Illustrator for them and they have provided the original panel layout to work on.

Anyone good with Illustrator and keen to be part of it? ;)

    thanks,
    Joe

Not at all. I like the idea, if only because I want a standard KPH speedometer, as opposed to the MPH / KPH I currently have.

Downside is, I can't design myself out of a paper bag!

    Yeah, but in black.

I'm going to poke my graphic designer friend, and see what he can come up with - I've a few ideas.

Is there any kind of fancy paper that they used to create the dials?

I believe it should be some form of hard plastic. Certain areas would need the lights to come through. Do keep us posted. :)

fantastic pic of your car Andreas, very switched on. Green and Tan is my fav combination.

Love your seat belt guides especially, where did you get them from?

Thanks a lot, happy that you like it.

Seat belt guides are from Kumoi Motors, Japan, but sold out.:(

Hi guys. Was interested in this for quite some time. Finally got around to making the template using that illustrator file.

Speedometer and Tachymeter are a bit different in scale from copen's original so gotta be careful. Shouldn't be too much of an issue IMO.

Someone try it out and tell me if it works :)

    Enjoy!

Hi CSquared, great work there! I do hope to get the Jap company to customise for me. However, I want to get it perfect. The plan is to get these VDO gauges eventually which has matching look and feel. Do you think its too much of a hassle to match the number and wording fonts? Cheers!

I hope to achieve something similar to this effect. :)

I think this Nardi wheel will give a totally different feel to the ride... saving up for one! :D:D:D

    Here's another Japanese ride...

hey joeleow. Those gauges look great! However, i'll need the original illustrator files of the gauges to edit. Also, i noticed that the font on the gauges in your picture is different to the one in your very first post.

The gauges are from the brand VDO (Heritage series I believe). Unfortunately, I do not have their illustrator files. Agree on the fonts, I did not take too much notice of those details until you actually managed to produce this AI file. Let me look for similar font types that can be downloaded. Hopefully it will be helpful to you.

How about adding the text "VDO" to the speedo like the gauges? :D:D:D
