....well sort of! In two week's time, I'll be emigrating permanently from the UK to New Zealand.....and yes the Copen is coming with me! It will be securely packed into a container to set sail across the world for about eight weeks to it's new home in Auckland. The copenworld site will continue as normal, but don't be surprised if my articles are upside-down in future!
Well, congrats Rushmere. Hope the move goes well. I envy you! Really glad to hear the site will remain. 200+ members now relying on you... Rex. P.S. Don't forget to move your pin!!
Thank you. It's amazing how many people have said they wish they were going too! I must say, preparing for such a huge move has been an absolute nightmare, but I'm definitely looking forward to getting away from this cold and foggy weather.
Bon voyage Rushmere. My wife is from Upper Hut in Aukland, which explains why she walks on the cieling and sticks her tongue out at me Good luck to you sir and dont forget the velcro shoes Regards, Sardine.
Thank you all for your good wishes. I'm now in New Zealand, still awaiting the arrival of the Copen. It'll be a few more weeks before it gets here. Here's a photo of it as it set off on it's journey to the shipping company in the UK to be packed away in a container.....
good luck nice to see more copens coming our way to the southern hemisphere, good luck with the delivery !
I finally got the Copen back today. Although it arrived in New Zealand about a month ago, it's taken this long to get it through quarantine inspections, customs and compliance, and to get it registered to get it back on the road. Thankfully, it hadn't sustained any damage on the long journey across the world, although getting it home today was a bit of a drama. Not unexpectedly, the battery was completely flat when it arrived. The garage jump started it to get me on my way, but it then decided to stop dead on a busy roundabout. Slightly embarrassed, I managed to get it off the road, and then called the AA, who told me that the battery was unusable and had to be replaced. Interestingly, the AA man told me he had never seen one before, so it seems they're pretty rare here too. I'm now looking forward to taking it for a proper ride tomorrow.
Hey, Glad you got your Copen back Rushmere. Sounds like an excellent move. I'm sure the roads out in New Zealand will be excellent to drive it about on, especially with the roof down Hope you get to enjoy it!
