After 5 Years, its time to depart. I was bumped in a Car park back in Feb and the Insurance flagged me as a Cat D. I have been repaired up to requiring Paint but my Painter had a Stroke and its all stalled. I even have the paint.
I have covered just shy of 65K miles with MOT history to verify. Current MOT runs until June2017.
I'm finished in Silver with a lovely Red Leather trim. I have had regular oil changes over the Years and my Owner always curses when my Filter gets changed. I have recently had Front Discs and Pads, expensive Spark Plugs and a new Oil Filter.
My owner want £995 for me and wont take any offers because im worth it.
    I'm in Liverpool.
Currently advertised on Ebay but just seem to be attracting Cock Wombles and people offering Camels.

Used to have a White Copen, but I sold it in 2023
:D So getting offered a camel is an international phenomenon on ebay, I thought I was the only one

So if I get this right, the bodywork is OK again, its just missing paint? Why not continue driving?
Also, even if I cannot buy it, pictures would be beneficial for potential buyers!

    Good luck anyway!

Edit: Just saw the pictures on ebay, does not look bad at all. I would still drive it :D

Hiya, so the car is road worthy, but needs some paint to finish off? Off side door and wing, and near side rear arch? Is that all that needs sorting? New to the Copen but I understand they need regular oil changes to keep the turbo running properly - has this been done?
    All the best, Nick

I was one of the 'cock wombles' as you call them who was initially interested a few months back, but with €800 forecast in paintwork alone by my painter I was told by yourselves it wasn't a vehicle worthy of throwing that much repair money at it....

    but hey ho...

best of luck with the sale and pray you don't get any more 'cock wombles' calling....

I threw over a grand at mine to fix the paint... Never dealing with a UK import again, even if I'm the person importing it.

Well, its all painted and being put back into use. Managed to get a few other bits of paintwork sorted as well. The front of the sills take a battering and are a moisture trap so they have been painted and the inners painted with por15 and then treated with waxoyl.
Its had a thorough jet wash underneath to remove any Mud Poultices and treated to a good waxing.
    Turned out quite well.
Good to get back behind the wheel and enjoy a bit of topless fun.
Big hugs to my BF for getting it sorted and convincing me to keep it.

If that was mine I'd probably have painted it myself so the cost would be minimal, but if I'd been facing a paint cost of over £750 I think I'd have been tempted to take the opportunity to get the whole car vinyl wrapped instead.

    He did it himself.
Turned out really well. Nice and shiny. No runs.
All it cost in the end was his time.
    Im well chuffed with.

Just out of interest, how good was the paint colour match?

I ask because I bought an aerosol for my silver Copen (s28) and the colour looks way out - much darker. I can't be sure if the problem is that my car has faded, or the tin I was sent is a really bad match. Whatever, I am going to need to start again. :(

If your colour was good, where did you get the paint?

    cheers

This is the likely issue. Paint fades, which keeps panel beaters in business :)
