Just wondering if anybody has a problem with condensation in the boot of their Copen ??? Over the cold winter I have found that condensation has built up, I expect from the cabin heat and the exhust heat from under the car. This seems to have caused drips and the underlay is soaking and wet. There is no leak from the high brake light in my car, which could have been the problem. Might be worth a check before mold sets in.
Thanks for the tip. I've checked and no sign of damp, phew. Just a thought, have you checked the rubber grommet is in place? Rex.
Thanks for that. The condensation was forming on the inside of the boot lid. The dripping down on the carpet and under the carpet. The rest is OK, thats one good thing.
I had a problem with condensation in my boot, i used some left over Sound X matting (cheap dynamat) from my speaker install and lined the bottom of the boot, been dry for over 6 months now. If you feel the matting after a long drive it's warm so you can definetly see how condensation would build up. Andy
I have seen condnsation on the inside of my boot too. I don't think my mats are damp though. I'll check. I like the idea of using the dynamat stuff to insulate the underside of the boot.
dwayner Put some silica condensation absorbers in the boot - i left the window slightly open once, and the rain got in overnight - not a lot, but i had water condensatiopn in every part of the car - put these silica absorbers under the seats, and in 4 days, it was all gone.
I googled for silica condensation absorber but didnt get any relevant results. Do you have a link for those absorbers ?
search for silica gel in google shopping or ebay. 'Pingi' used to do them shaped like a penguin soft toy but when I just searched they are now just bags.
