Hi guys, not been on here for a while, been too busy Thinking of having the roof and rear window surround sprayed black on Buzz Please bear in mind that he is all silver at the moment with black alloy wheels. What do other Copen fans think of a 2 tone Buzz please? Cheers! PhillandLin and Buzz.
I like the idea and am tempted to do the same. But first the bumper needs some attention. Too many stone chips Rex.
Good morning to you Rex and thanks for your reply to my post Yes, it's all a matter of priorities when you're trying to improve or modify our little Copens. Is yours also silver or is it red? I think it would go well with the black wheels, and it would go back to all silver when the roof is down
Hi Superspat. Thanks for getting back to me about the 2 tone paint. Love the wheels by the way, they look really different and very I also like the car park photography. Might try that soon. Yes, I've thought about the rear window as well, but wanted to get the paint done first and see how it looks. Cheers! PhillandLin and Buzz.
Why don't you get it wraped first, that way it will be done quicker and for a lot less than a repiant, and if you don't or do like it you can remove it and get it done permanently, you could also experiment with different wrap's!!
Hello there Princess. Thanks for your reply to my thread. Don't know too much about vehicle wrapping so never really considered it as an option. Have you had some done? Were you happy with the quality and price? Cheers! PhillandLin and Buzz.
yes i think its a good look. If not better, but nice for being different. Gloss or matt black? what about the windscreen pillars?
Good afternoon to you TrustaFox. Hope all is good with you? Thanks for the response to my thread. I'm glad that you like the idea, it's something that I've been considering doing ever since I changed the wheels to black. Very good questions as usual. My initial thoughts are to have a finish similar to the alloys, which are a 'sheen' finish somewhere between gloss and matt, but I'm going to discuss it with my paint chap. I think I will leave the windscreen surround silver for now and see how I feel about it when I've lived with it for a while. With the roof down, I would be left with a silver car with a black windscreen surround. I think that this would look a bit daft Look forward to hearing from you again soon. Cheers! PhillandLin and Buzz.
Not had any done yet . I have a small bit i need doing on my 2011 vw beetle, Have a look at this website though might give you an idea of the quality you can get these day's http://pwpro.co.uk/
Thanks for the reply and information Princess. Much appreciated! Oh my word! Now that has really thrown a very large cat in with the pigeons! This really is an eye opener for me I had no idea that this even existed. I could have a silver Buzz with a black carbon fibre roof and rear windscreen surround. How totally is that? I'm now going for a lie down in a dark room PhillandLin and Buzz.
I have also been mulling over having the roof black. I don't think the black/dark windscreen surround would look daft, but it would give a look that makes it appear completely topless. I'm not against leaving it silver as I think that would look fine still when the roof is down. But does it not look as good when the roof is up? Compare these two. The silver will be very similar to your look. In fact that owner on a forum was considering if he should do the surround black! As for the yellow, I'm not convinced by the look. I've got the feeling black would be better in this combination. But until you actually see it, its not 100% reliably to make an opinion.
That black and yellow reminds me off a car I saw last weekend on a forecourt at Seaham. I drove past and could only see the back of it, didn't recognise it and couldn't see the name. So on the return journey I called in to have a look, thought it was a kit car. It was aTVR Tomara and priced at 22k. I won't be buying it but he does appears to have sold it. I like the black and yellow and silver and black is ok but I think my grey Copen wouldn't look so good with a black roof. The Vauxhall Adam and the Citroen DS3 look good with their different coloured roofs. It's a current craze that gives cars a retro look that I quite like. Now what colour goes with metallic grey? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...sq/quicksearch/true/page/1/usedcars?logcode=p
Well I think any colour of pro would look good in your car i think black is about the only colour that would go. Any colour would look as oddball as the squinting eyed driver, because there isn't any colour to tie it in with. Besides red of the interior but I think that would be seriously too bright. Darker grey would do. what about a tartan wrap?
Another view I seem to be in a minority but I think that having a different coloured roof will spoil the overall look. One of the delights of the Copen is that it looks like a very small car and not an obvious convertible, this is even more so when it is parked in a line of other cars. Many people where I work have come up to me and made some really nice comments about the Copen and some have been quite shocked and surprised when they find out that the roof folds down. If the roof is painted black, then it would look like an obvious convertible and would lose a lot of it's unique charm. So my view is KEEP THE ROOF THE SAME COLOUR
Wait, hang on, there's already a Copen here called Buzz? I've stolen the name? :-( At least I believe we are in different countries.
